Chapter Twenty Two: The Search For The New Lead Singer

Battle of the Bands was quickly approaching and Hellfire Weasle was still missing a lead singer. In all honesty they were worried since they had no idea what was going to happen without Jude.

He stayed away and he committed to this change. He even requested to move to another room. He started to hang out with David and Danielle more frequently and same went for Rae, who was now nicknamed Note, on the small occasion.

It was Saturday now and the band members did something that they wished they did five days ago when Tobi suggested it... hold auditions.

They were currently using the music class to hold the auditions. Many people wanted to join the band but many of them didn't possess the vocal talent that their former band mate/lead singer possessed. None of them could measure up to the amazing singer that Jude was.

It was all so irritating. Jude was the guy who got them together and they pushed him away. He left them. They normally would have thought he'd leave because of fights within the band but it was because of their prank that he left.

They felt guilty for it but at the moment all they were focused on was getting a lead singer who was really good compared to Jude. Someone with passion, emotion, great with carrying a tune. The thing was that nobody possessed any of those traits. They needed someone good, someone with heart.

The auditions ended for the day and Abby was just moping around. She practically gave up because there was no way she and the others would ever find a good replacement for Jude.

She just walked into the auditorium to sulk. Little did she know that she wasn't the only person there. She heard a voice. It's was elegant. Radiant. Angelic. It attracted her, it had her hooked and she wanted to continue listening. She didn't want to stop listening.

Abby looked at the person who sang with such an angelic voice. The look of awe and shock was found on her face when she discovered who was the perfect person. The one they had been looking for...

Lexi Morris.

"Lexi?" Abby called out to her friend who just noticed that she was there. "Abby?! Please tell me you weren't here when it was happening." Lexi started to panic.

"Are you kidding? That was so fucking amazing Lexi. Why don't you put that talent to good use?" Abby said while she approached Lexi.

"The thing with that is... I'm shy." She said. "But you always seem so confident." Abby said as she was confused.

"I try to put on a brave face when I'm around you guys... and around Jace." Lexi said. "Come on... Look, we can help each other out here."

"If you agree to become the new lead singer of Hellfire Weasle, I can help you with your confidence problem." Abby said as she wrapped her arm around Lexi's shoulder. "Do we have a deal?"

"You got it." Lexi said agreeing to Abby's offer.
