It was night time now. Jude looked at his sleeping girlfriend who was in the same bed as him. He smiled before the nurse came into his room with a large monitor.
"What's this for?" Jude asked before the nurse looked back and told him, "Your friends are playing a live feed and they wanted you to see. They said this is gonna be something you'll want to see."
He handed Jude a remote and woke up Paige. Once she was awake, Jude looked at her and pointed at the monitor which just went on.
Abby was seen along with Malcom, Tobi, Beat, Lexi and David.
"Hey Jude, good to see you're still alive." Abby said.
"Yeah, what ever you have to do can we hurry along, I don't have much sand left in the hourglass." Jude said making them all laugh. Even when he was dying he was still finding a way to him.
"Sure thing man. You're gonna love this. Prepare for the concert of your life. We're playing your favorite songs here." Tobi said with a smile.
"Can't wait." Jude said before he and Paige snuggled up against each other, getting ready to watch the concert.
"Hello Alexander Academy!! I'm Lexi and we're Highschool of Hell!! Prepare because this concert it dedicated to our best friend Jude!!" Lexi called out before a crowd, made up of the student body, cheered.
"Now let's go!!"
Jude was feeling great. It was in that moment when Bailey rushed in to watch the concert with her brother. It might have been Jude's last hours but he was enjoying them.
Jude was getting mixed emotions. These songs were stirring up some feelings within him
"How do you like that Jude?" Lexi asked.
"That was great, in fact I forgot I was dying." Jude joked which made them all laugh for some reason. "Seriously, you guys have no idea how much this means to me. Thank you all." Jude thanked his friends who all said in unison,
"No problem Jude!!"
All worries and fears were leaving young Hathaway's mind. He was even singing along to the song as Lexi was singing. Strangely, Bailey and Paige liked listening to the songs.
Jude held Paige's hand as Lexi was about to play the last song with Jace's assistance, and that was Jude's favorite.
He was at a loss for words. The way the band was playing was exceptional at best but he still liked it. This was his farewell gift and it was all he could ever ask for.
He remembered the times practicing with Hellfire Weasle and ShockWave. Battle of the Bands. It all came flooding back to him.
All the bonds he had forged with his friends. Jude was the happiest he could have been. He ended up crying because of this but he didn't mind. The tears came from pure joy and happiness.
"We hoped you liked this Jude." They all said.
"I liked it guys. I really liked it. Loved it actually." He said before Lexi said,
"We're gonna pack up and celebrate with you as soon as possible okay."
"Yeah sure, hurry up. I wanna spend my last moments with my friends." He said before his eyes started to get heavy. He had been up the whole day to see how death works but he was being robbed of that opportunity by the sandman.
"Hey, I'm gonna take a quick nap. Wake me up in ten minutes okay." Jude said before closing his eyes.
The band ran off the stage and took the bus to get to the hospital as fast as they could. They were happy that they could do one last good thing for Jude, but knowing him he would've wanted to perform at the concert as well.
They managed to get to the hospital and they informed the receptionist on the lobby about their final visit to him.
One thing that many people would not know was that death takes you when you sleep. It's painless but cruel none the less to those around you.
Nobody expected Jude to fall to something like leukemia, but nobody expected him to give up and cry like a coward either, no he actually met death and smacked it in the face before getting taken by it. He might have been an impulsive moron with control issues, but he was the glue to the whole group. He was a caring brother and a loving boyfriend. A happy friend and a prideful son. Where ever Jude was now, he was in peace.
