CHAPTER 64

(The day of the first prank day or the 1st meeting with BLACKPINK. The CEO gave the girls the hardest decision ever, in which whether they are going to debut now or later. What the girls did not know is that Jennie is actually at the CEO’s office that time, hiding.)

ChuLiChaeng: We understand that sajangnim, but can’t you….(tears escaped their eyes and started flowing down on their cheeks) I mean can’t you be a little understanding to Jennie sajangnim? She lost her mom, not only her mom but both of her parents sajangnim, we’re the only ones left for her.
CEO: I know that too and it breaks my heart that we’re leaving her behind.
ChuLiChaeng: Ani, we’re not leaving her behind. You said you give us time to think so it’s not over yet sajangnim. We’re going to thik about it carefully.
CEO: Yes do that please. I’ll give you 3 days. You may go now. (It’s hard for him to see his trainees crying. Well what can he do, although he is the CEO, he can’t just ignore his co-executives and everything.)

(After the girls take their leave, Jennie came out crying.)
CEO: Why are you crying? Are you touched by what they’ve said? Or did you missed them that much that it made you cry?
Jennie: Actually both sajangnim but there’s one more reason why I am crying.
CEO: And what is that?
Jennie: What do they mean that I lost my mom?
CEO: (He forget about that, he can’t lie at this moment now so he just told her the truth.) Well about that, the thing is, your mom passed away last year. That’s why you went to New Zealand that time. All of our staff decided that we should send you there atleast to see your mom for the last time but… (with that Jennie lost all her energy and went down on the floor crying very hard.) (Referring to the manager) take her back to the hotel first, I’ll explain everything when she’s okay. (Actually, the CEO let Jennie stay in a hotel first until the other members of BLACKPINK make their decision.)

(Three days passed. Only an hour before the 2nd meeting with BLACKPINK. At the CEO’S office)
CEO: Are you okay now?
Jennie: Yes sajangnim (but deep inside she’s breaking apart).
CEO: I’m very sure you have lots of questions to ask. Ask now.
Jennie: Can you please tell me what happened to my mom sajangnim? I mean, she passed away but I was here, is that what you meant before? That, that’s the reason why I went to New Zealand?
CEO: Yes, you got it right. Actually, you are to debut when that sad news came so we have no other choice but to postpone your debut and let you see your mom atleast for the last time because as far as I remember, you came here alone when you decided to be a trainee to our company. Your mom is busy in New Zealand that’s why.
Jennie: So I am the reason why our debut was cancelled (begin tearing up). I’m so sorry sajangnim. It was all my fault.
CEO: (Actually he expects that to Jennie. At least she’s putting her other members first before herself after all.) Well practically saying, it’s not your entire fault after all. There are some things that we didn’t expect to happen and yeah here we are, successfully overcome that unexpected thing so don’t blame yourself too much. We are the only family left for you so we should be together until the end right?
Jennie: Only family left? What do you mean by that sajangnim? I mean I still have my dad though he’s very busy, thankyou for you concern though.
CEO: (Looked at their manager, the manager gave the “we lied” expression. The CEO got it but eventually realized that there’s no point in lying this time ‘cause it’ll only hurt her more if she’d find out later on so he decided to tell the truth, everything.) Look, the thing is, your dad passed away when you were just a kid I guess. I’m not sure how old you were back then. You and your mom are the only ones left but then she left so soon so we’re the only ones left for you. What I’m saying is that we won’t leave you alone.
Jennie: (Cryng in shock) but….but they said that he’s busy on doin’ our other business around the world, both him and mom… (Then she realized that her mom actually died so it was a lie after all.) Is this what they can’t say when I was in New Zealand? Is that why they never visited me when I got into an accident? I wonder why, but it was a lie after all. Why is this happening to me?
CEO: (He hugged Jennie) You have us now. Stop crying, you’re sisters(BLACKPINK) will be here soon. Let’s continue our prank with them and see how they respond to it. You have us so don’t be so down okay? Let’s hear what your sisters are about to say shall we?
Jennie: (barely stops crying but eventually hides because the girls-ChuLiChaeng, are coming) Yes sajangnim.

(After calming Jennie, ChuLiChaeng arrived at the CEO’s office.)
