I quickly stepped out of the elevator and Jungkook continued to take his damned sweet time.
I didn't have the patience to wait for him, nor did I want to, so I kept my quick pace steady and pulled my backpack tighter on my shoulders.
"Hyemi, you don't need to run from me, darling." I could sense his smirk by his tone of voice.
I stopped and scowled.
I muttered to my feet. "Disgusting."
"What was that?" he said, awfully close to my ear.
I jumped, backing away three feet. "Why do you feel the need to come that close?"
He smirked and I rolled my eyes and walked away.

When I got to class, I took my seat and I saw Jungkook saunter in and place his bag on the desk behind me. At this point, I was considering asking the teacher to relocate him because he annoyed the living hell out of me.
I sighed, knowing he was going to bother me for just another day.
"Good morning class," my teacher spoke from her desk. The whole class stood from their seats.
"Good morning Mrs." the entire class bowed before sitting back down.
"Today I will be giving you back your averages going into your final exams, as well as your most recent test and projects." she wrote the date on the chalkboard.
I frowned, knowing how this was ending.
I could practically guess how wide Jungkook was smiling behind me, but as tempting as it was, I was not going to look back at him and his stupid smile.
When the teacher handed the tests, projects and called us up for our marks going into exams, I could hear Jungkook and his friends chuckling behind me.
"Hey, Hye, what'd you get?" Jungkook called to me.
"Nobody said you could call me Hye. And it's none of your business." I sat down at my desk and organized my books.
"Oh, it's not my business because it's not higher than my 99%."
I scowled, so hard that my throat began to ache from annoyance.
"One percent," I muttered, hopefully quiet enough so he wouldn't hear.
"What was that?" he asked me.
"Nothing." I replied loudly.
"Not satisfied with your grade, huh?"
I rolled my eyes and turned around quickly, glaring at his friends until they backed off.
I leaned in close. "You don't shut your damn mouth and I'll shut it for you."
He laughed. "Someone seems to be jealous!"
I bit my lip out of anger, and trying to contain my anger, I managed to quietly mutter.
"Just please, don't."
He leaned back in his chair and smirked. "Okay."
I made eye contact with him again. His smile faded and he seemed to have a straight face. It was almost as though he was contemplating if he cared about me or if he didn't.
"Thank you." I said quietly, bowing my head and returning to my desk.
I hated, more than anything, being nice to him. After all, I had the highest marks in the class and I made top 3 in the entire school until he moved in last week. He moved into the apartment right next to me and also decided to move straight in the way of my marks, taking my position of top of the class.
I hated being the stupid second in comparison to a boy who literally just moved in. I had been studying at this school for years. I had earned the name, and he hasn't been here a week and already stole my hard work.
I despised him for stealing my title, and looking so damn good while doing it.
