"Jungkook, go home."I stared him dead in the eye and pushed all of my body weight into the edge of my wooden desk. It was getting to the point where I was tired of him being near me.
"No." He flipped to the three hundred and second page in the tenth book he had read by now. Best part is, it was only 2pm.
I sighed and interlaced my fingers and threw my hands behind my head, letting out the deepest and most exaggerated sigh I could possibly find within myself.
Jungkook only laughed, remaining focused on the words as he flipped, yet another, word-full page.
Finally, after what felt like years, Jungkook flipped the final page and sighed, smacking the book shut dramatically. He stared at my shelves and I examined the hundreds he hadn't read yet and dreaded him picking out another.
I quickly stepped in front of the shelf as he stood to reach for another.
"No," I crossed my arms.
"What? You're gonna punish me for reading?" His smirk made me furious.
"I've asked you to leave me alone for 4 hours now. I'm fine. I'm healthy, now please stop wasting your time and just-"
Jungkook grabbed the collar of my sweater and I almost gasped. He brought me real close to his face and I could feel his smooth breaths fall over my face as I only blinked in response.
He smiled slightly, keeping still quite the distance. The distance only made me crazier, and his smile made me clench my jaw so hard I could have broke a tooth. His voice was low and quiet, yet the most serious, and stern, I had ever heard come out of Jungkook's mouth.
"I said I was staying."
I gulped and blinked hard, trying to fight the urge to just pull him close and break the tension. But something inside me wouldn't do it.
His hand slowly loosened around the bunched up fabric of my sweater at the collar, and before I knew it, he was far away from me again. I, however, didn't move a single inch. I caught myself imagining what just happened over and over again.
The moment replayed in my mind so many times that I had lost count. I also had lost track of time, apparently."Are you gonna do something?" Jungkook was four chapters in to yet, another book.
I flinched slightly and shook my head, awakening me from the dream-like state I was just in.
Jungkook froze. His eyes didn't move across the page nor did he turn any. "You've been standing there for 20 minutes."
I blinked slowly and peeled my feet off the floor. It felt as though I was pulling apart pieces of cardboard that had been hot glued together.
Jungkook shut my book on the desk and spun the chair around, standing up and regaining his height over me.
"If you really want me to go, I will."
He pulled his jacket off the back of the chair and I grabbed his arm.
He turned around slowly and looked at my hand, still gripped tightly around his arm."You really need to make up your mind, Hyemi," He placed his jacket back down and laughed slightly. "So indecisive."
I let my hand fall limp at my side and smiled only the slightest bit. My mind relaxed and he sat back in my black desk chair, spinning around and flipping the book open to where he had left off.
I shuffled slowly towards my white bookshelf and scanned the spines, one at a time and re-read each title, even though I had read them a thousand times each. I gently slid four books out and piled them neatly on the desk beside Jungkook.Jungkook tilted his head to read the spines that faced him. "What's this?"
"Read those before you touch anything else on my shelf." I patted the top of the pile and smiled.
