I unpacked my small backpack and untied my running shoes.
With a smile on my face, I put on my pajamas and moved to my playstation. I called on goldjeon to help me with my nights worth of homework.
He knew just how to answer my questions; he didn't give away the answer, but somehow explained perfectly so I could understand.
It was nearly midnight when I finished the last page of my night's work. I sighed and said goodnight, when my phone chimed from behind me.
I walked to my desk and looked at the notification on my home screen.Jungkook
you forgot something
11:53pmI furrowed my brows in confusion, while I reread the message on the screen.
What could I have forgotten?I placed my phone down and slipped my shoes on, unlocking my door and walking out.
I made it to Jungkook's door and knocked lightly.I heard his footsteps approach the other side of the door, and then the handle jerked. The door opened quickly and we made eye contact.
Jungkook didn't speak. He simply left the door open for me to come in.
I walked in slowly as he disappeared down the hall.
I shut the door behind me and inspected my surroundings. Much like my apartment, except most things were the opposite, so I could find my way around. He returned with his right fist closed at his side.
"You forgot this," he said, when he was close enough for me to see the bracelet sitting in his palm when he opened it.
I looked down at my empty wrist. "Oh, I forgot I had that."
I went to go take it from his hands, when he closed his palm again, making it impossible for me to grab the bracelet.
"Oh, come on, you're really going to be like that?" I asked, slouching slightly. I wasn't in the mood to be playing games.
"Whats a little fun?" he said, taking one end of the bracelet in one hand and the other in his right hand.
"Show me your wrist." he held the chain open for my wrist.
I laughed and looked at my empty wrist. I didn't know what had gotten into him, but something about this kid had changed.
"What's gotten into you?" I left his hands waiting for me.
I walked myself into his kitchen and sat on his counter.
He folded the bracelet back into his hand and slid it into his pocket, shaking his head. "Am I different or something?"
"Actually, yes, you are very different. Why are you being suddenly so nice?"
He smiled at me and leaned up against the wall parallel to the counter I was sitting on, looking at me from across the room. "I'm not nice."
"Once again, a correct answer. But you've changed." I said, starting to be tired of his stupid answers. I wanted a real one.
He didn't smile anymore. Only looked me dead in the eye, leaned up against the off white-wall with his hands in his pockets.
I sighed and rolled my eyes slightly. At this point, I was surprised my eyes weren't stuck in the back of my head. "Okay kid. If you're not gonna tell me what's gotten into you, then I'll find out."
"Kid? I'm older than you. Have respect." His eyes were shut with his head leaned against the wall.
I sighed quietly. I couldn't fight him on age. "I'll find out."
He smiled with his eyes shut. "Yes, you will."
"-I'm sorry?" I asked, wondering if he said what he just did.
"Nevermind. Brat." he opened his eyes and stood up straight.
I jumped off the counter and smiled, turning to leave.
Suddenly, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back, pulling the bracelet out of his pocket.
"Just give it to me," I held my palm open for the bracelet to be placed.
He ignored me, grabbing my wrist firmly and flinging the chain underneath it, attaching it at its loop.
I stared at the bracelet for a moment when he finished and pulled the loop to the under side of my wrist.
We both froze for a moment.
He pushed my wrist back down, causing me to smack myself.
"Don't be so harsh with yourself." Jungkook smiled at my pain from my own hand.
I twitched. "Whatever."
He smiled widely at me, locking his door as I stepped out.
I walked back to my own apartment and locked the door behind me.
There were no lights on, and it was after midnight by only a few minutes.I watched the clock hand tick in the pitch darkness and admired the way the golden bracelet on my wrist gleamed against the cold moonlight.
