[Hyemi's POV - a week later]
I stood, nervously, shifting weight between feet while staring at my playstation. I leaned forward and pressed the power button, sighing deeply as I walked to my backpack on the other side of my room.
I pulled my binder out and opened it, throwing it on my bed and grabbing a pencil from the cup on my desk.
I spun the pencil between my fingers walking back to my bed, taking my seat and pulling my binder close to my side.
I opened Minecraft and found goldjeon already online.goldjeon: i hope you brought ur hmwrk
*sent at 3:29pmkhyemii: lucky for u, i did
*sent at 3:30pmgoldjeon: i thought "you didnt need a tutor"?
*sent at 3:32pmI rolled my eyes at the screen and smiled slightly.
khyemii: whatever. u gon help or not
*sent at 3:33pmgoldjeon: i promised.
*sent at 3:33pmWe went on all night, having a debate over math questions and answers. He talked every question out with me and explained new concepts. It boggled me how he could explain so well through a screen. He must've been one to do extremely well himself.
I sighed and tucked my binder away when I finished. I had other homework to finish, so he helped me finish that up as well and I thanked him at the end of the night.
It was nearly 10pm when I shut my playstation off. I placed my controller on the floor next to the console and yawned. I fell back onto my bed, exhausted from a days work, and my mind shut off nearly immediately.
-
When I woke up to the quiet sound of birds chirping, cars starting, and the golden blaring light falling through the small gaps in the blinds hanging over the window. It was brighter than usual.
I stretched out and sat up and checked the time. It was a half-hour after I usually get up, and I flung off the side of my bed and onto my feet. I quickly rushed to get my school uniform on, eat something substantial and pack my bag. I zipped my bag up when I heard a knock on my door.
Who's knocking now?
I threw my bag over my shoulder and opened the door to find nobody.
I grabbed my key and poked my head out to see Jungkook impatiently tapping his foot at the end of the hall."Already 10 minutes late and yet you still think you have all the time in the world."
I scowled and stepped out of my apartment, shutting the door and slipping my key in, turning it half to the left to lock it.
I shoved my key back in my bag and walked towards Jungkook."What do you want?" I asked, shoving my phone in my pocket.
He smiled and shoved his hands in his pockets, almost mimicking my actions.
"Don't want you skipping like last week.""That was a week ago, you idiot, I'm fine." I rolled my eyes and walked past him.
He turned himself around and followed me to the elevators slowly. "Okay."
I ignored him standing beside me. I would rather him have left ten minutes ago when he was supposed to.
We stayed silent most of the way there, sitting in our separate rows on the bus. We didn't speak in class, either. That is, until the end."I'm going to the gym tonight." he said proudly.
"Wow, amazing. Remind me when I asked?" I said with flat sarcasm.
He laughed slightly and kicked air at his feet. "Just saying."
I shook my head slightly. "Okay great. I'll die happier now that I know."
He rolled his eyes and opened the door in front of him.
I was ready for him to let the door go, and watch it shut in my face as I held my hands ready to catch it.He didn't let the door go however.
I stopped in the doorway. I looked behind me to see if he was holding the door for someone else to see nobody within proximity.
"Are you gonna walk or what? Make me stand here all day?" I snapped out of it when he spoke.
I turned my head around to see his foot tapping again.
I furrowed my brows and continued walking quietly. It was a weird thing for him to hold a door.
"Wow. You're welcome." He scoffed quietly.
I laughed slightly, dropping my head. "Why did you feel the need to hold the door?"
"As much as I don't need competition at the gym, I don't want the door injuring you and ruining my chances of beating you at something else."
My head flung backward, and I let out the loudest laugh that I had in a while.
"Is that funny?" he asked, shamelessly.
"Hilarious," I said, raising my head to see his unamused face standing in front of me. "You think you'll beat me."
He rubbed his mouth. "Yeah, pretty confident."
"Okay hun." I laughed slightly before stepping around him when I felt something pull me back.
Jungkook held a strand of my messy, straight black hair through his palm.
"Don't worry, princess. You have nothing to worry about."His grip loosened and my hair slipped out of his hand. I turned around to see him walk towards the doors of the bus, taking careless steps until he smirked back at me before quickly taking up the steps of the bus.
