Chapter 1

Veronica POV

I waked up and got dressed in black ripped jeans and a white shirt. I then put on my black converse and walked downstairs. When I walked down stairs it was quiet as always. I lived with my mom who was always gone for work. She would be traveling to so many places. Sometimes I forgot that I have a mother. I also have a sister. She moved out with her boyfriend about 5 years ago. They live in Paris so I barely see them. I basically live here alone.

I went to the kitchen and grabbed an apple since I didn't have time to make breakfast. I quickly ate it and left.

I walked out the house and went to Hannah's house. She is my ride to school and my best friend. Hannah is my best friend since elementary and now we're seniors.

"Hey Veronica." Hannah said while walking out her house.

"Hey Hannah." I said.

"Are you ready??" She asked me while unlocking her car.

"Yup, I'm ready" I said while opening the car's door.

I do have my car license and a car but I rather not drive alone. I decided to ask my friend to take me. We go to the same school so it's not that big of a deal.

"Where's your uniform for soccer?" She asked me.

"Umm... Well the coach needs to tell us who's the captain and co-captain before giving us the uniform" I said while putting on my seatbelt.

"Luckily we already have a captain for the hockey team." she said while putting on her seatbelt.

"Aaron Burriss." We said at the same time and started laughing.

Hannah drove to school.

We got to school and she parked in the spot she always does.

"Ok so see you after practice." I said while getting out of her car.

I close the car's door and walked inside the school.
I was looking around to try and find my other friend, Emma.

I walked in my first class, which is science, and saw my friend Emma saving me a spot next to her, but I also saw Aaron.

Me and Aaron don't have a good relationship. He is my bully since middle school. Tbh I understand why he used to bully me. When I was younger I used to wear glasses, I had braces, and I was chubby. I was very ugly back then. Right now, I use contacts, I don't have braces anymore, and I loss weight. My friends Hannah and Emma helped me with that.

When I sat down, everyone asked me if I was new but then I explained to them what happened, and their eyes were wide opened in surprise.

After class I walked down the hall to my locker and got my history book.

"So...Veronica" Someone said behind me.

I turned around and saw Aaron with his group of friends.

"What do you want Burriss?" I said getting annoyed.

"Even tho you got skinny, it doesn't mean I'm going to leave you alone, little b*tch." He said while closing my locker.

"WHAT?!? She is hot" one of his friends said behind him.

This bitch is never going to be hot" Aaron said while pulling my hair a little.

"Leave me alone Burriss" I said trying to take his hands off of me.

"Ha ha ha you're so funny Veronica...... NEVER" he said laughing and letting me go. He pushed me and I fell on the ground. Everyone was staring at me. I got up and ran to the restroom.

I hate Aaron so much. He always makes fun of me in front of everyone.

I walked out and went straight to my history class.

Emma saved me a spot behind her but behind my desk was Aaron.

I didn't know what to do. That was the only free spot in the classroom. I walked to the desk behind Emma and sat down.

"Hey Veronica, I'm sorry about the seats but they are the only ones left" she said holding my hand.

"It's alright" I said with a fake smile.

Then in the middle of the class, Aaron raised his hand.

"Yes Mr.Burriss" she said pointing to him.

"I can't see the board cause of the big head that is right in front of me" he said while everyone else start laughing.

"Mr.Burriss!!! Don't be so rude with Veronica" the teacher said a little mad.

"What?! I'm just saying the truth and is not my fault that she has a big head" he said loudly.

"Mr.Burriss, go to the discipline office right now!!!You need to learn how to respect your classmates!!!!" the teacher said while calling the security.

"Whatever! At least I can see the board now" he said getting up from his seat.

"And I'm going to call your parents to schedule a meeting about you" the teacher said.

"BUT WHY FOR SAYING THE TRUTH?" Aaron yelled at the teacher.

"Bye Mr.Burriss" the teacher said giving him the pass.

Aaron was so mad. He was staring at me really seriously but like why? I didn't even do anything.
