Chapter 6

Veronica POV

Aaron stepped on my ankle and it hurts so bad.

"Veronica!!" Emma yelled and ran to me.

"Omg, are you ok?" Hannah asked while wiping my tears.

Ethan pushed Hannah away from me and he carried me bridal style to the nurse.

"I'm sorry." Ethan said.

"Why are you sorry?" I asked.

"Because I didn't do anything to stop him." He said looking down.

"It's alright." I said putting my hands on his cheeks.

We got to the nurse's office. Ethan was there with me. She checked my ankle.

"What happened sweetheart?" She asked me.

"Aar-"

"I fell while running to the lunch table." I said.

Ethan was looking at me a little confused.

We walked out and saw Hannah talking to Emma.

"Why didn't you say the truth?" Ethan asked me.

"I didn't want problems." I said while trying to walk.

"Let's take you home." Ethan said.

"No, I'm fine." I said walking but failing at it.

"Veronica, let's take you home." Hannah said while pulling my hand.

I just nod.

Hannah helped me to get to her car. When I was walking I saw Mariah running towards me.

"OMG, Veronica, what happened?" she asked me.

I was getting inside the car.

"I'll tell you what happened. Your brother stepped on her ankle and now she can't walk." Hannah said.

"WHAT?!!" Mariah said.

"Mariah, please don't tell your parents. I'm fine." I said.

"BUT THE SOCCER GAME IS TOMORROW!!!" She yelled.

"You got this Mariah. I know you can do it." I said while looking at her.

"Are you gonna come?" She asked me.

"Of course I am." I said while smiling.

"What about your mom. She is not going to be really happy." She said.

"She isn't at home. She is working." I said.

"I hope you get better. I'll talk to Aaron later." She said.

"No, please don't." I said.

"Ok, I won't." Mariah said.

We got in the car and drove home.

Aaron POV

In class, I saw Emma and Ethan but no sight of Veronica or Hannah.

After school I walked straight home. I was tired, so I tried to walk fast. When I got home, I went to my room and laid down on my bed. Then Mariah walks in very mad. Luckily, my parents aren't home.

"AARON BURRISS, YOU'RE DEAD!!!" She yells while walking in my room.

"What did I do now?" I said while looking at her.

"YOU BROKE VERONICA'S ANKLE!!!" She yelled while getting closer to me.

"And..." I said like I didn't care.

AND?? AND?? WE HAVE A SOCCER GAME TOMORROW AND WE CAN'T WIN WITHOUT HER. YOU FREAKIN KNOW THAT!!!" She yelled.

Oh f*ck, I forget that the game is tomorrow. Just when she reminds me, it hurts. I truly do love Veronica but I can't let her know.

"Oh well." I said while looking at Mariah.

"I SWEAR AARON, YOU BETTER LEAVE HER ALONE!!" She yelled while leaving my room.

It hurts me hitting her but it will hurt more if I let her go out with Dolan.

Veronica POV

When we get home, Hannah took me straight to my room.

"Thank you Hannah." I said while sitting on my bed.

"Where's your mom?" She asked me.

"She's on a business trip." I said.

BEEP-BEEP

"Is that your phone?" I asked.

"Yeah it's my mom, she wants me home." Hannah said.

"Oh okay, Bye Hannah." I said.

"Bye Veronica." Hannah said while walking out my room.
