She had been thinking about it at malapit na siyang mabaliw kaya kailangan niya na munang kalimutan si Jeremy nang makapagtrabaho siya ng maayos.

After the lunch yesterday ay inihatid siya nito sa suite nila ni Becca. He kissed her goodbye on the cheek for the first time and sent her bible verses through text. Wala siyang sinagot kahit isa sa mga text na iyon. When Luke texted her last night, sinabihan niya itong sabay silang mag-lunch ngayon. Hindi niya alam kung ano ang iisipin niya at gagawin. But she didn't want to think that she liked Jeremy because he was popular or because he was really handsome. And she would always be in awe of him. She should be done with that after Jeremy himself corrected her on their first night together.

She was on the process of taking Jeremy off her head when she heard a knock on her door. Then it was pushed to open and Luke entered.

"How's Cebu? I heard you sang on the stage."

That could only be Becca. Sagad talaga ang kadaldalan ng kaibigan niya. "Itinulak ako ni Becca sa stage nang maghanap ng replacement back up si Jeremy dahil may sakit ang kapatid niya na nagba-backup sa kanya."

"Ah," sabi nitong na parang walang kakuwenta-kuwenta ang pinag-uusapan nila. Naupo ito sa isa sa dalawang visitor's chair sa harap ng executive desk niya kahit hindi niya kinukumbida. It was so like him. May kayabangan ito. "I looked at this Jeremy online. He actually looked good."

Napatitig siya dito. Ano pa kaya ang ikuwinento ni Becca?

"But then, what is the life that he has? Umiikot sa iba't ibang bansa para mag-preform ng Christian song? Hanggang kailan iyan? What future does he have?"

Kumunot ang noo niya. "Eh, ano naman sa iyo kung iyon ang ginagawa niya ngayon?"

"Whoa!" Itinaas nito ang dalawang kamay tanda kunwari ng pagsuko, but she knew that it was fake. He was sarcastic. "Hindi ako nakikipag-away, Miss," nakangiting sabi nito na parang iniinis siya.

She checked herself. Tumaas nga bigla ang boses niya. She had been tempremental since Saturday night. That wasn't good.

"By the way, your invitation to lunch, does it still stand?"

Tinitigan niya ito. "Andito ka na rin lang. 'Di mag-usap na tayo ngayon."

He looked at her suspiciously. "Tungkol saan?"

Wala siyang pansintabi nang magsalita. "Akala ko ay okay lang na maging boyfriend kita. I was thinking of accepting your proposal of relationship last Friday pero pumunta ako sa Cebu to watch the concert so I told myself that I'll just talk to you when I come back here."

He got the hint right away. "And then?"

She was taken aback right there and then. Hindi niya alam kung paano niya nasimulang sabihin iyon na ngayon ay hindi niya alam kung paano tatapusin. "Then I just thought that we really didn't know each other well yet."

Tumuwid ito ng upo. He didn't look happy. "Althea, three years na tayong magkakilala at two years na kitang nililigawan, boyfriend mo pa iyong Engineer ng Soliven Incorporated. Tapos sasabihin mo sa akin ngayon na hindi tayo magkakilala?"
