Tinitigan niya ito. Kumunot ang noo niya. Was he thinking that she actually gave herself to her past boyfriends?
"My family wouldn't know unless you'll tell them. And they are your past, basta walang sisingit habang tayo, I'm fine with that."
Gusto niyang pumalakpak sa tuwa.
But then he asked. "Who is your first?"
Ang lakas ng tawa niya. Men were men, kahit itago pa. They really care about being the first of the woman that they wanted to marry. Gosh! He really wanted to marry her. "Mamaya ibubulong ko sa iyo."
Tumingin ito sa malayo. "Bakit hindi mo pa sabihin ngayon? Wala namang nakakarinig sa atin."
Hindi na lang siya kumibo. Ngingiti-ngiti lang siya. Jeremy kept quiet at the duration on the jungle trip.
They ate in a fancy Thai Restaurant for dinner. She had a taste of pad thai at their chicken barbeque na napakasarap sa panlasa niya, their rice was pillaf for some reason.
"Something wrong?"
He siezed her eyes. "Papayag ka ba muna sa civil wedding then we'll get married in the church after a month?"
Nanlaki ang mga mata niya. "What?"
He was bobbing his left leg down below at tumatama iyon minsan sa tuhod niya. She was sure now that he was doing it to remain calm. The man was tensed.
"I really want to marry you-"
"Okay..." Nasabi na nito iyon kanina at naiintindihan niya na.
"Now."
Nabitiwan niya ang kutsara at tinidor. "What?"
There is a civil registry office nearby. At bukas sila twenty-four-seven."
"Paano mo nalaman?"
It would be a walk in hell.
"I know that I haven't even given you an engagement ring, but-"
Umiling siya. "That doesn't really matter, but..."
Naghintay ito ng sasabihin niya.
"Your mother," sinadya niyang huwag ituloy ang sasabihin.
