As Katelynn ran off, I wasn't too sure what she wanted me to do. I wanted to run after her but I can't just leave Kate, my real daughter behind especially now that we're getting on and she's finally accepted that I'm her mother. I watched Katelynn disappear from the distance and sighed as I turned around to face Luke and Kate. 'Mummy!' Kate shouted, 'Come play with us.' I smiled and started walking up to them both. I knelt down on my knees and gazed at the sandcastle Kate made with Luke. They were getting on well. I was getting on well with Kate too. It was finally starting to feel like we were one big, happy family. Luke placed his hand against mine and I looked up at him. He smiled at me and I smiled back. 'I think you guys need to kiss.' Kate smirked, 'Isn't that what mummy's and daddy's do?!' I raised an eyebrow at Kate and laughed everything off. It was getting pretty awkward, 'Kate, sweetheart.. Me and Luke aren't together.' 'Why aren't you guys together? I thought that mummys and daddys are always together?' She asked, placing the bucket down on the ground. 'Someday you'll understand, we'll tell you but for now all you need to know is that mummy and daddy loves you very much.' Luke smiled, rubbing Kate's cheek. Kate smiled and nodded her head, 'I love you too.' With that, she both gave us a hug. 'Alice..' A voice behind me whispered. I turned around and saw my parents stood there with frowns on their faces.
