I stared at the screen on my computer and sighed. I had nothing else to do because I had already prepared Mr. Taylor's meetings for today and tomorrow. I leaned my forehead against my desk and closed my eyes for a few seconds. I was so tired because I've been stressing about the fact that Luke and I have crossed paths again and he's now my new boss so there's nothing else I can do to avoid him. 'Alice?' A faint voice whispered. I looked up and noticed it was Rachael- one of my co-office worker. 'Ahuh?' I grunted. 'Will you give this to Mr. Taylor? I have to go now. My boyfriend's taking me out.' She smiled, placing piles of paper onto my desk. Before I could even say a word she had already disappeared from the distance. I rolled my eyes as I grabbed the pile of paper in front of me. My heart beated rapidly as I approached Mr. Taylor's office. I slowly knocked on the door until I heard him say, 'Come in.' I opened the door and awkwardly walked closer and closer to him. He just sat there signing and reading some stuff. He avoided looking at me in the eyes. 'Here are the papers that Rachael wanted to give you.' I whispered. 'Thanks, just put it there.' He pointed at a space on his table. I carefully placed it on the table and walked over to the door. As I was about to walk off, Luke said, 'Are you happy, Alice?' I slowly turned around to face him and smiled. 'Yes, Luke. I'm very happy.' There was a moment of awkward silence, 'I heard your married.' He mumbled. 'Yeah.' I slowly walked closer to him, 'To Reece. He was always there for me. He never left me. I love him so much.' I smiled. He faked a smile back and nodded his head, 'You guys look good together.' 'Thank you.' I grinned, 'So how about you? Any luck with girls?' He smiled at me then shook his head. 'I've only had one girl stuck in my heart and it will always be her.' As those words left his mouth, I froze for a few seconds. Was he reffering to me? HECK NO! I looked down on the ground, 'I... I got to go!' I stuttered. As I tip-toed towards the door I was stopped again. 'What's the matter, Alice? Do you think I'm reffering to you?' I closed my eyes for a few seconds and sighed. 'At least I keep my promises.' He continued. What was he talking about? He left me! I turned around to face him and raised my eyebrow. 'What the hell are you talking about?!' I shouted. 'You know exactly what I'm talking about!' He snapped. My vision started blurring as tears poured down my face. 'I don't know what your talking about, Luke!' I cried. 'YOU L-' Before I could listen to him the door swung open.
