I slowly walked to the orphan house and noticed Katelynn sat down with a little girl around her age. They were both playing with a doll and a bucket and spade. 'Katelynn!' I exclaimed. She excitedly got up and ran towards me, giving me a tight hug with her small little arms. 'Alice!' She smiled. I kissed her on the forehead, 'How are you?' 'I'm good, how about you? How's Kate?' She asked. I nodded my head, 'She's good. Maybe next time I come round, I'll bring her with me. She'd love that.' She avoided eye contact with me and stared at the ground, 'I don't think so. I sighed before shaking my head. 'You're heartless!' She shouted. Tears streamed down her face, 'I never want to see you again!' She sobbed as she grabbed her friend's hand and they both ran off, leaving the doll behind. 'Katelynn!' I shouted, 'Wait!' But they just ignored me. Slowly walking to pick up the doll, I stared at it before staring at the distance where I saw Katelynn earlier. A tear dropped to my cheek, 'Why do I feel like she's my daughter when I know that Kate's my daughter?' I mumbled to myself before walking back to my car...
