SCENE 25

Coral is pacing up and down in the common area, waiting for her necklace.

Jasmine: Calm down, Coral. It'll be OK.

Coral: No, no, no! Stop saying that. Stop saying it will be OK.

Jasmine: Sorry.

Coral sits down next to Kyron.

Coral: I apologise; I didn't mean to say that to you. But I can't... I can't afford to lose that necklace.

Kyron: Why?

Coral: It's special... my dad gave it to me.

Jasmine: Oh, I see. So it means a lot?

Coral nods.

Coral: Well... if I'm honest - it does mean a lot. But not because of my dad, but what he did.

Coral: He served in the Army.

Jasmine: Coral... maybe you shouldn't say more than that. I mean... just in case you become too-

Coral becomes silent for a while.

Kyron: Everything OK?

Coral: Fine, fine. But that's why my necklace is so important. It's my personal way of keeping my dad's memory alive. Without it, I have nothing.

Jasmine: I'm sure we'll get it back.

Kyron: Let's just hope Caspian is a fast runner...

Jasmine: Yeah.

Suddenly, the Textiles and Fashion teacher comes towards them.

Teacher: Excuse me; terribly sorry - but do any of you know Zoe Hartley?

Jasmine: I do. Why?

Teacher: If you see her, tell her to come to me immediately. I've decided to reconsider my decision following her course change.

Jasmine: Really? Why?

Teacher: It turns out she did an aptitude test at our taster day; proving to us she was in fact capable.

Jasmine: Seriously?

Teacher: Yes! Hopefully I can catch her before the end of the day.

Jasmine looks out the window.

Jasmine: If she makes it...
