Gabe had been a music major and I was a graphic art major. We had one class together, that how we met. I guess you could say it was love at first sight. Gabe was the one who asked me out. We dated for a year then went on summer vacation together. After that we got the same dorm and we got closer. Now we were living in a small apartment. It was a two bed, one bath apartment. We only needed two bedrooms. One for us, the other for the baby we were excepting. When Gabe found out I was pregnant he was thrilled. He was super overprotective and it just added to the fact he was lovable goof. When I reached seven months I knew something was wrong. All the doctors said the baby was fine. Deep down I knew it wasn't true.
"Jack, c'mon...I don't like you just sitting here all day...." I looked up from my sketch book and looked at Gabe. I frowned and rubbed my stomach.
"Jack......"
"Gabe I'm fine.... nothing can go wrong if I stay home and on the couch...." Gabe sighed and sat next to me.
"Jack...nothing will go wrong..." I frowned and laid my head on his shoulder. Gabe smiled and kiss me then got up. He walked out of the room and went to his little office. He started playing the guitar which caused me to smile. Hearing the notes and the wood floors making noise underneath his feet. I got to my feet and went over to his office. I stood in the doorway and watched. He had sat down and continued to play. I smiled and laid a hand on my stomach.
"God I hope they can play music like you..." I looked at him. He looked up and smiled.
"Honestly. I hope they're like you," he continued to play until his fingers got tired. Hd went up to me and kissed me before heading off to go to another room. He got changed and came out.
"C'mon! Let's go!" He smiled. We both went out to eat with some friends. After that we walked to our apartment and went to bed. Nothing else really happened. That night I couldn't sleep. Normally the baby would be kicking or moving, but nothing happened.
At midnight something happened. I woke up in extreme pain. At first I didn't know what it was. When I moved the blanket and saw blood my eyes went wide. I grabbed Gabe's shoulder and shook him awake. He turned to me still half asleep.
"Jack I'm not getting you onion ice cream again.... go back to bed...." I frowned and continued to shake him. When he opened his eyes and saw the crimson liquid he jumped up.
"Oh god!" He ran around the bed and over to me. He picked me up and carried me to the car. He set me in it while I held my stomach. He got into the car and drove. The hospital wasn't that far away thankfully. When we had gotten there, there were a couple nurses outside waiting. Gabe must've called them to let them know we were coming in. He parked and grabbed me from the car.
"Jack just hold on ok?" I nodded my head weakly as he carried me into the hospital. He stopped and set me on a bed as a nurse started telling him what to do. A doctor came in and checked on me. He frowns and nodded. He pulled Gabe out of the room and started talking to him. The nurse put a mask over my face which caused me to fall asleep.
All I saw was blackness. I heard a few things that Gabe said and heard his guitar. When I opened my eyes and the fog cleared I noticed how it felt like I had gotten hit by a bus. I groaned and looked around. I noticed Gabe playing his guitar next to a incubator. I looked at him and tilted my head.
"G-Gabe?" He jumped when he heard me. He turned and smiled.
"She's just like you jack....she's a fighter.... doctor's said she wouldn't make it past the first night... she's made it two days..." he smiled and got up. I frowned and tried to sit up. He shook his head and brought the incubator to me. He lowered the legs so I could see the baby. She was bigger than I'd expected.
"S-She's beautiful...." I stuttered. He nodded and smiled. He held me close and sighed.
"Finally....my family...." he kisses my forehead as we both gazed down at our daughter.
Haha. So I've been way to busy with school starting and being taken to the hospital for a Panic attack... twice.
