REEEEEEEQUEST! Short chapter sorry!
Mako has been my best mate for years. We started dating around our third year in school. We moved in together towards the end of the year. We spent every second together that summer. I found I was pregnant the beginning of the next year. Mako was thrilled about the baby. He was a bit shocked, but the day after I told him he started cleaning out our spare room for a nursery.
The first few months of my pregnancy were miserable. As the months slowly went by and I got further into my pregnancy the more worried mako and I got. The doctor said that I was high risk due to the size of the baby. The doctors didn't tell us what the gender was because they were more worried about the size of the baby.
So now as I sat eight months pregnant in labor struggling. Mako was pacing waiting for the midwife to get to our apartment. I had told mako I didn't want to go to the hospital for the fact I hated them. He understood and stayed by me. When my water broke he freaked out worried and not sure what to do. He got me to our room and called the midwife. After a while she came and I was struggling. She came in and started instructing me on what to do.
"Jamison, push" I nodded and when a contraction came I screamed out in pain and pushed. I gripped mako's hand as tears fell down my cheeks. We did the pushing for another hour not getting anywhere.
"Jamison, I know you didn't want to go to the hospital, but the baby is just to big for you to deliver.... your going to need to go to the hospital and get a c-section...." I frowned and shook my head. I felt mako pick me up.
"Oi! Stop!" He shook his head and continued to carry me. He took me down to the car and set me in the passenger seat. He got in and drove to the hospital. I whimpered and gripped his hand. When we got to the hospital mako picked me up and took my inside. He talked to the doctors telling them what I needed. After a bit he took me to a room and set me down on the bed. The doctor came in and prepped me for emergency surgery. Mako got changed and held my hand. The doctors took me off to the surgery room and not even for a second did mako let go. He stayed right beside me and smiled at me. I just cried mostly because of the pain. The doctor put up a curtain so I couldn't see what they were doing. They numbed the area and started working. Mako kelp telling me what they were doing. I groaned as they pulled the baby out. I heard silence then it being broken by my baby's cries. I smiled slightly as a nurse brought them over.
"You have a healthy baby boy" I smiled weakly and looked at the baby. I smiled a new kind of tears falling from my eyes. The doctors got me fixed up and took me back to the room. A nurse came in with our baby and smiled. She handed him to me. I smiled and held him close.
"He was eight ponds, big little fella" the nurse smiled and got a bottle made for me to feed the baby. I smiled weakly and looked over at mako.
"We have a baby boy" he said smiling and kissed our son's head. I smiled and nodded looking down at our son.
"He is.... mako... can we name him Ryan?" Mako nodded and smiled. I smiled and as I fed Ryan the bottle I realized how lucky I was.
