A few months later
Alex PoV
Jesy gave me the nod from the stage, as they finished singing your love from their new album. I grabbed the spare mic from Josh and walked onto the stage. I held a finger to my mouth, as did Jesy and the girls so that I could sneak up on my girlfriend who was chatting away to the audience. I came behind her and wrapped my arms around her, kissing her ear. She jumped a mile and spun in my arms, hugging me when she realised it was me.
"Hi baby!" I said to her, holding the mic away from me.
"Hi," she said bashfully, as the audience and girls 'awwed'
"Perrie take a seat please" I said into the microphone, leading her to the chair that was waiting for her.
Perrie did so, smiling but confused.
"Perrie, you have graced my life for 11 months and they have been the best 11 months of my life" I said into the mic, watching her pout at me. "I'll never forget the day I met you" I carried on, gesturing to the picture of Little Mix and LFC at the hospital, Perrie and I stood next to each other, "I was inspired with how strong you had been, and the things you had done for parents around the country. Your heart is so big." A picture of Perrie and a cuddle cot showed.
"I have enjoyed getting to know you, whether it was watching you perform," a video of me watching her perform, "or our long chats over a takeaway," Perrie posing with a pizza box, "I have cherished every moment I have got to spend with you." Pictures of Perrie and I together now showed.
"Perrie I want to keep healing you. I went to spend the rest of my life loving you, serving you. I want to grow old and wrinkly with you." She laughed at that one, tears streaming down her face now, "Perrie I want to marry you," I said dropping to one knee, in front of her, pulling the ring out of my jean pocket.
"Do you... do you want to marry me?"
"With all of my heart, Alex, I want to with all my heart" she said into her mic, giving me her hand. I gently placed the small ring on her finger, kissing her fingers after.
The crowd cheered, whilst I pulled her up, and held her close. "Thank you so much babe" Perrie whispered, kissing my cheek, her tears dribbling down her's.
"How cute was that?" Jesy said to the audience, making the audience laugh. Perrie and I broke apart, my hand resting on her back.
"My heart, you guys" Jade said to us, coming over to hug us.
"Best day ever!" Leigh-Anne squealed.
"Sorry about that guys," I said to the audience, "enjoy the rest of the show," I said with a wave.
"Love you" I said to Perrie, kissing her head before running off.
I heard Perrie say, "How the hell am I meant to perform after that?" Making me laugh, as the music began to play and Claude clapped me on the back on his way on to the stage.
Later
"Alex Oxlade-chamberlain you hopeless romantic" Jesy shouted at me down the corridor, once her and the girls and my fiancé were done performing.
I spun around and smiled at her, not that I'd been able to wipe the smile off my face since I proposed but I smiled even wider, "thanks!"
"Come here I need to give you a hug, congratulations!" Jesy said, jogging down the corridor, wrapping me in a tight hug.
"Thank you Jesy I'd have never been able to do it without you." I said to her, as I saw my girl come round the corner, fiddling with her ring.
"Baby!" I shouted, letting go of Jesy and sprinting down the corridor towards her.
"Alex, you are the best person alive, thank you" Perrie said, hugging me before pulling away to smash our lips together in a kiss filled to the brim with love.
"I love you so so much Perrie, I can't even put it into words so I hope this helps explain it." I told her, lifting her hand up so her ring sparkled in the light.
"Babe, why are you so adorable, you're going to make me cry again." She said, kissing my cheek softly. I turned my head so she was kissing my lips again, hand still wrapped around her back.
"Oh my gosh you guys are so cute" we heard from behind us. Perrie broke away and smiled shyly at Jade and Leigh-Anne.
"Let's see this ring then!" Jade said, causing the other two to run up and take Perrie's hand.
"Were blocking the corridor girls, let's go into the dressing room and you can see it properly there." Perrie said escaping the circle, where she took my hand and walked to the room.
I sat down on the sofa and Perrie sat in my lap, shivering slightly due to the air con in the room. I wrapped her in her Hatchi blanket, as she held her hand out for each other friends to inspect the ring I had meticulously chosen with my mum and her mum.
It was relatively simple. It had an 18 karat gold band with a tiny blue sapphire, similar to the colour of Perrie's eyes, sat in the centre of 5 even smaller diamonds.
"Oh I need to ring Mam, where's my phone?" She asked a little later once she was showered and changed.
"Not sure, just use mind bab" I offered, handing it to her, kissing her temple, as she unlocked it.
In no time we were waiting for Debbie to figure out how to turn her camera on for face time. Once she had sorted it Perrie waved at her with the back of her hand slowly hoping her mum would notice.
"Hi Mam, I'm waving to you backwards" she said after 20 seconds of waving or so, holding her hand still.
"Oh my goodness did you do it Alex, did you finally ask her?" Debbie squealed, making Perrie look at me then look at her mum.
"Were you in on it Mam?" She asked with her eyebrows raised.
"Yeah I helped Al make sure it was right, but he already picked it out he just needed me to make sure it was the right size." She explained making Perrie go "aww baby that's so cute!"
"So how did he do it then babe?" Debbie asked Perrie, as I tangled my hand with Pez off camera.
"Have you not seen the videos Mam, he did it on stage after I love you and I sobbed and it was amazing!" Perrie gushed, looking up into my eyes, a bright smile on her face.
"Ooh I'll have to look. So are youse doing anything tonight?" Debbie asked us.
"No I think we're just gonna have a night in, I'm performing again tomorrow so I want to have as much energy as I can for it. We'll probably celebrate on a day off or after tour is over." Perrie told her, yawning after, this was the crash I had come to expect about an hour or so after the shows.
"Oh alright, well I'll let you head off babe, you look about ready to fall asleep." Debbie said before she waved and cursed under her breath "How do I turn this bloody thing off" fiddling with her phone. Perrie just laughed and hung up. She instantly moved to she was laying directly on me, on her side, her face in my neck.
"Come on let's get you back to the bus little one," I teased, standing up. To my surprise Perrie didn't let go she just clung on like a koala not moving. "Come on Pez, you've got to walk, what if there's fans?"
"Ugh but I'm tired and cold" she complained, unwrapping herself from me, sliding to the floor.
"Two minutes and then we can cuddle in the bunk and not move." I told her, grabbing her bag and her hand. She reluctantly followed.
We got onto the bus, Perrie said goodnight to everyone and stood by the bunk waiting for me to hoist her up into it. I did so and climbed in after, kissing the side of her head, as she pulled the duvet over us and nuzzled her nose into my chest.
"Love you"
"I love you too"
