Chpater 19

Yume's POV
I've been training a lot for the past 2 weeks and I've done a couple more shows and participated in events to gain more fans.
The S4 selection is getting closer with everyday passing.
My relationship with Subaru has bloomed and we're becoming closer. We go out on dates when both of us are free or sometimes meet at night before curfew.

Today became a day to remember for me because I got horrible news from my adoptive parents. My (adoptive) father's mom/ grandma had died because of a heart attack.
It hurt me because after the Nijino couple adopted me, I would visit them and she'd be there and would treat me like a real grand-daughter. She would think of me as family.

I cried and cried, but eventually had to get out of the room for some fresh air. I went to the place no one goes to except my brother and I and cried there.
"Hey, you okay?" I heard someone.
"H-huh." I said wiping my tears away.
I turned my head to find my brother.
"Oh hey." I said in a low voice.
"Why are you crying." He asked.
"I-it's nothing." I said.
"It's gotta be something. You look like you've been crying for days." He said sitting beside me.
"G-grandma died today," I said grabbing onto his shirt and letting it all out.
"Shhh, it's okay." He said.
"Come on, you've gotta be strong during the S4 selection be strong for her. Put an effort to show her just how much you've grown." He continued.
"Y-ya." I said.
"Y-Yume.." someone said.
"K-k-kanata." Another one said.
I turned my head to see Subaru and Ako.
"WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE?? YUME PLEASE EXPLAIN." Subaru shouted.
"THE SAME GOES FOR YOU KANATA." Ako shouted.
"Look it's not what it looks like." I say.
"Ya it's just you hugging Kanata that's all." Subaru said with annoyance in his voice.
Ako didn't say anything she's just standing there shocked.
"You know I've been so suspicious for a couple of months... why do I keep seeing the both of you together. What kind of relation do you have?" He said lowering his voice slowly.
"Look we just keep meeting by coincidence... and right now I was crying and he found me and started to comfort me. That's all." I lied about the first part. It hurt lying to him, but I just had to do it.
Because the situation got worse Kanata let go of me, stood up and started walking towards Ako. He was about to wrap his arms around her when she pushed him away.
"DON'T TOUCH ME!" She yelled running away.

"So this is how it's gonna be?" Subaru asked.
I was so close to crying again, but tried holding it in as much as possible.
"Kanata," Subaru said, "you've got a lot of explaining to do."
"W-wait Subaru." I said, but he ignore me.
"Please answer." I said. Still no answer.
It was then that I broke down. I couldn't do anything for him to talk to me. He hates me. He wants nothing to do with me. I stood up with all my strength and started running to the dorm.
As soon as I entered the room I went straight to my bed covered myself with the covers and cried myself to sleep.

~Time skip 4 days~
It's been 4 days since that day. I've been crying whenever I'm alone. I would put on a fake smile outside of the room.
2 days ago I passed by Subaru, now Subaru-senpai and he ignored me. He didn't greet me back. His words were harsh, they've been repeating in my head ever since.

~time skip S4 selection~
Today is the first day of the S4 Selection. It was the wind dance class and ended with a predictable result with Nikaidō-senpai claiming her place once again and remained in S4.

The day after it was bird theater class. Ako's hopes were so high and she had hoped to win. She gave it her all, but ended up losing to Kisaragi-senpai with a small amount of points.
