Hiccup:
Last night after I did all my homework for the next day, I went straight to bed. The first day at Hogwarts had been fascinating, with lots of new things I'd seen and learned, and that's what it made so tiring as well.
But today, charm class with the Slytherins was on my schedule and that made me get out of bed pretty easy. As I walked in the Great Hall I saw Jack already sitting on the Slytherin table, just like yesterday.
"Morning Jack!"
"Hey Hiccup!" Jack smiled up at me and I could tell he was in a perticular good mood.
"What's up with you?" I asked and Jack shrugged.
"Tooth and I told Rapunzel yesterday about, uhm, who we are , you know? Tooth and Rapunzel had become quite close already and I sat next to Rapunzel during Transfiguration yesterday. She seems like a nice girl to me too, so we decided to tell her too." He chucked. "I hate to admit it, but it is a relief she took it well. She seems like she gets scared easily."
I sat down next to him. "Don't know her that well, to be honest.'
As the Hall slowly filled with sleepy students, we talked some more about the classes.
"It's a shame we didn't get to do acutal magic yet. You know, with wand-waving and all..." I told him. Jack nodded but looked concerned, but I couldn't tell why.

Our second charms class didn't begin very different from the last one, as professor Flitwick checked if everyone was there and began gave us a reminder about what we learned yesterday. "I know you students. Barely at school but already shrinking their brains to the size of micedroppings!"
Jack sat at the other end of the class, right in front of me. The benches were placed on the opposite of each other, instead of next to, like in the theoryclass yeaterday.
"Now then class, take out your wands and remember! The SWISH AND FLICK!" The whole class groaned, as for they had heard that scentence at least a thousand times already.
Everyone got out their wands and pointed them at the white feathers before them. I concentrated really hard and practised the wand movements one more time, even though I'd been studying it for two hours last night.
There we go... "WingArdium LeviOsar!" and with all the grace I had in my body (which wasn't much, but I try), pointed the wand with a nice swish and flick right at the feather. It didn't move an inch. Frustrated, I tried it again and again, but still the stupid thing wouldn't move.
"By all the hairs in Gorlog's beard!" I exclaimed. I was hopeless! Why would they think I have magic inside me! I couldn't even lift a FEATHER!
With all my hopes and dreames flying away, I figured I had nothing else to do but to watch the other kids make their attempts. To my delight, no one else had made it fly and that let a little hope come back to me. I even couldn't hold my laughter as I saw Jack struggeling with his enourmous staff, hitting other slytherins in their faces as he tried to 'swish and flick' his wand. Although I felt the corners of my mouth lift up into my cheeks, I felt sorry for him as well and wondered if there was anything that could help him with this problem.
My mind was taken off Jack when I heard the Ravenclaw (I believe her name was Lindsey) shout very loudly at her feather. "WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA YOU STUPID FEATHER"
Suddently I knew what I was doing wrong and I turned towards the white thing in front of me once again. Lindsey her movements were a little off, she didn't concentrate enough on it and that's why her feather didn't fly up into the sky. However, her pronunciation was perfect. I had been doing it wrong the other way, because I considered my movements okay, but I now realised I had put an R after Leviosa, so the spell didn't work!
