Hiccup
After jack and Tooth had left so suddenly, we all stayed together speculating on what could have happened. It was hard keeping my mouth shut, and Rapunzel and I shared more than a few nervous glances. Jack had told me she knew about the Guardians now too, all except for one vital thing: Jack wasn't alive.
I was more than happy keeping that secret.
Two days past, and still no word from Jack or Tooth. Me and Rapunzel both walked out of the library after a study session about Charms and Potions.
"I'm worried about them," Rapunzel spoke up, "Jack said Tooth's parents had disappeared. I'm worried that might have happened to them too!"
Please, Odin, let that not be the case.
"I'm sure they're fine, Rapunzel. I mean, look at them! They're basically even more magic than we are! We just have wands, they've got cool moon powers. Before you know it, Jack can annoy us both again!"
Rapunzel opened her mouth as if she was to say something, but then-
POOF
A cold sensation dripped down my spine as the snowball in my neck started to melt.
"AAAAAAH! JACK! ODIN'S BEARD!" I accidentally dropped all my books and started dancing around the hallway.
Meanwhile, Jack Frost was rolling on the ground from laughing and even Rapunzel failed to hide her smile behind her hand.
Once the worst cold was gone, I grumpily launched toward my friend, trying to grapple him.
"You'll pay for that! You forget who you're dealing with here!"
That just made him laugh even more. Fantastic.
After a short stuggle it was clear I wasn't going to better Jack in any way, so I let go of him.
"Where have you been, man? Where's Tooth?"
"Yes Jack!" Rapunzel chirped in, "We were worried about you! Is everyone okay?"
Jack went through his messy hair and wrapped an arm around both our shoulders.
"I'll tell you, don't worry. I'm a little exhausted from flying so long though, can we sit down somewhere?"
We decided on a quiet hallway and sat down. Rapunzel and I were both staring at jack, wordlessly asking him to hell us everything.
He sighed. "We flew there, Tooth and I. The Tooth Palace was a complete mess. Stressing fairies everywhere. Trust me- you don't want to be around stressing fairies for too long. Makes you go-" Jack whistled and looked at us with crossed eyes.
"Did you find out anything about her parents?" I asked.
"No." Jack's face fell. "No trace of them, or their kidnappers. We suspect Pitch has found new allies." He stared at the opposite wall with a concerned look. "And that's bad. I don't know what he's planning, but I have to be ready."
His eyes shifted over to us. "Maybe you guys should watch out too, just in case. He's the Boogeyman after all."
"What about Tooth?"
Jack jumped up and started pacing up and down the hallway.
"I hope she'll be allright. The Guardians are helping her run the buissness now. If her parents stay away for too long, she'll become a Guardian herself too. I'm... not sure when she can come here again."
---
Weeks had passed since Tooth had returned home. Jack had been in contact with her, and her letters told us she was busy, but doing good. Still no sign of her parents, though.
