Rapunzel:

The first school day passed by in a blur.
I started it with Herbiology, a lesson about the plants and their uses of the magical world. To be honest, I was very interested in all the plants and their magical uses. The idea of performing some sort of magic without just waving your wand, impressed me. Apparently, the wizarding world was much bigger than I had expected.

The whole class was excited, and so was Professor Longbottom. I guessed that combination led to a quiet class and a teacher who stumbled upon his words, because he wanted to learn us as much as he possibly could. I couldn't blame him. I practically devoured everything he told us like it was chocolate pie.

Gosh how I love chocolate pie!

I was sitting inbetween Merida and Tooth. The second one seemed to enjoy herself as well, but Merida began rolling her eyes every time the professor stumbled in a scentence. After just ten minutes, I thought she would fall asleep. I laughed quietly. Oh, Mer...

After half an hour of fighting himself trough the theoratical part of the lesson, Professor Longbottom sighed in relief.

"Well kids, that was the worst part. Now we can have some fun!" he grinned widely and pulled out a plant from beneath the table.

"Now, this is a Disputatio simplex, a Talking plant, as we say." He pointed at the little green plant, which was waving in the wind. It looked very... normal actually. It had some leaves and a small bud, like any other plant.

"I guess he is still a bit confused ," Merida whispered in my ear. "I believe that is a pretty common and non-magical plant."

'' That is very right, Miss Dunbroch!" Professor Longbottom suddently called. "It looks normal, doesn't it?"

Merida had gone red all over her face, ashamed by the fact he overheard her whispering.

The professor, in the meantime, looked mysteriously around the class. Then, he said something no one expected:

"The Talking plant is pretty common, actually!"

Everyone glimpsed at each other and whispers erupted between the first years. I looked over at Tooth an gave her a questioning look. She frowned and shook her head. She didn't know as well.

"Now I must say this is a very recent discovery, which is probably why the ones born in a magical family hadn't heard about it as well." Professor Longbottom lifted up the pot with the plant and turned it around in his hands.

"But why didn't we discover this plant earlier? It has magical abillities, after all?" Then he looked around to see if someone got it already, but no one spoke a word. The professor sighed.

"The reason why, you ask me? We just talked about it! It's pretty simple actually: The plant has the perfect magical ability to hide his other magical abilities, like singing!"

Now everyone laughed. Singing? A plant that could sing?!

"Oh, don't be mistaken, but underneath the flower, or in this case the bud, is a little mouth hidden, and a wizard can be able to learn him how to sing!"

This is where I got excited.

Could I learn a plant to sing?

"I am sure you're all desperate to try, but this lesson I want to make sure you all know the basics of growing a plant. The homework, however, will be teaching it how to sing! Now turn to page five and try to care a bit for your plant. If you have questions, ask them please. I don't want the poor things to die within a day, do I?"
