Chapter Thirty-Two: Settled

Cordelia

As time moved on Riley and I ad settled into our relationship, Maxine and Ollie unfortunately broke up when Ollie had to move the next town over. It was hard for them to deal with the distance and knowing they were going to different colleges soon was also a factor. On the upside he was now only a thirty minute drive from Riley so they stayed good friends and hung out more, and Maxine and Ollie decided to stay very good friends, and Sherrie and Luke officially became boyfriend and girlfriend despite her initial aversion, they are the sweetest couple...I honestly they bring out the best in each other these past few months.

"You nervous?" Riley asked me.

I put down his box and shook my head, "More anxious than anything." I sounded.

Today Riley was helping his mom move into their new house and Ollie and I were helping them.

"It's just like regular school...but better since it's something you're actually interested in." he put in.

I smiled, "I know he meant well with his words, but I didn't have the heart to tell him I was just going for my basics at the moment." I had decided to go for summer classes, get as much out of the way as I could and try to get to my major as soon as possible.

Plus with me in school during the day, Riley working during the day throughout summer, this gave me time to watch him practice on his new football team and go to his games as well as have ur due nights and hangout with the girls still.

"Well, just try not to overwhelm yourself by taking on too much."

"Hey man, I think this is the last box in the truck." Riley said as he walked in.

Riley's parents had finalized their divorce and since they never had a prenuptial agreement before they got married his mother got half of everything , plus child support...according to Riley his dad also has to continue to pay for their education, this extends to Riley's college...so long as he keeps his grades up and attends his classes. So he got into a better college than he initially thought he'd be able to.

Their father sold their house and the sales proceeds were split between the two parents and that how they purchased this home. Riley's mom also got a better job according to Riley, apparently she is now using her accounting degree and is taking online classes for business management so she can run a major department store that a family member owns.

I on the other hand had officially moved into my Dad's place two weeks ago, the girls were a little sad when I moved earlier than we had all planned on, but when I decided to take the summer classes we all  knew it was for the best.

Riley and I were also doing better than ever, It has been more than a few months of us going out and we are still going strong. I am just as in love with him as I was the day I met him, and one weekend while both my Father was working over night and my stepmom was out of town we finally became fully acquainted with one another and took our relationship to the physical level. I was so glad that I had waited, it made the moment well worth it as I felt every bit of love throughout and Riley was so attentive and caring.

Of course I told the girls the next day and we all couldn't stop talking about it...turns our that Sherrie and Luke had also explored their relationship in the same way which took Maxine and I by surprise...But Max actually confessed that she and Ollie would still see each other from time to time, and the letting him go was harder than she ever expected it to be.

"Hey so you know if Maxine is going to visit this weekend?" Ollie asked a little obvious that he missed her.

"She will be here this weekend...I gotta tell you Ollie, she got accepted into a school."
