Chapter Twenty Eight
-Cordelia-

I had purposely rode with the girls in Ollie's car to brunch knowing I'd ride back with Riley.

"Can I ride with you?" I asked dreamily.

There was something about this guy that made me giddy constantly.

He reched up and caressed my face, (the others had already begun walking to Ollie's car) "Of course you can." He said gently taking a hold of my hand and ushering us to his truck. He opened the passenger side door for me. He kept a hold of my hand as I also stepped onto the the small step to get into his big truck.

He laughed a little, "you're so small."

"Or maybe you're truck is too big."

He shook his head, Sorry beautiful...no such thing." He smiled before closing my door and rushing to the drivers side.

He got in, started his truck before he put it in drive and moved to grab my hand as he drove. I sat comfortable in the passangers seat, I looked at him trying to study everything about him right now. He caught me and smiled at me before he kissed my hand.

"You gotta tell me how to get to your house Beautiful."

I gave him the directions and it took us about seven minutes to get there.

"So this is your house?" He asked me after helping me down from the truck.

I shrugged , "Dad's house...rememebr I still live with my mom and step dad until I'm finished with my Senior Year."

"Can I see your room?"

I nodded, "We'll have to be carefule since that's where Maxine is staying so her stuff's in there."

I walked up to the house and unlocked the front door Ollie and the girls weren't too far behind us so I left it unlocked.

"So like I said this is my Dad and Step mom Gayle's house...uh it's got four bedrooms down here is the living room and dining room and kitchen, but the master's also down here and the guest room." I sounded nervously. "Upstairs are mine and My brother Paul's rooms, but he hardly ever visits so it's essentially a second guest room."

I watched as Riley moved around the living room going over to see the photos Gayle had up of Paul and I when we were younger some with all of us and some with just Dad and us.

"These pictures are great." He smiled.

I rolled my eyes and shook my head, "You should see my mom's collection...she's crazy with a camera."

"You've always been cute." He smiled on as he looked at all the various pictures "You and your brother look nothing alike."

"Yeah, My mom says I'm a good blend of both she and dad, but Paul is the spitting image of Dad."

"And you have a step brother too?" He asked.

I nodded, "yeah Nathan, he's a good deal older than me...he's my step dads son, it's just you and your little sister right?"

He smiled, "yes my little sister Patricia, she's named after my grandma." He said pulling his phone out and showing me a picture of him and a little girl around three years old. "She such a freaking ham..."

I couldn't help but look on adoringly as he talked about his baby sister.

The others arrived shortly after and Ollie and Riley actually sat down together after Ollie pulled up some game on his laptop and connected it to the tv.

I liked watching him interact with other people, it gave me more insight as to what kind of person he was.

I found out he was competitive, but not a poor sport if he lost. He laughs often, and takes care in what he's doing with a lot of focus and determination.

"You're super cute Cords." Sher said softly.

"Why?" I asked.

"You haven't been able to take your eyes off of him since you walked in with him at brunch."

I blushed a little out of embarrassment, was I really being that much of a creeper.

"Don't worry," Max put in with a smile, "he's pretty much the same with you.

As the day went on everyone grew comfortable and it was almost hard to imagine that the five us hadn't been good friends the whole time. After a few movies Max and Ollie volunteered to cook us dinner having taken the liberty to volunteer to go to the grocery store.

Really we all knew they wanted some time alone.

"I'm gonna go check in with my mom before she starts blowing up my phone." Sherrie said as she went upstairs, it gave Riley and I a little alone time as well.

"Come here." He said softly from his seat on the sofa.

I smiled and got up from the loveseat, fully intending on taking a comfortable seat next to him.

Yet he playfully pulled me onto his lap and I had no objections. I cuddled my whole body against his chest and we stayed that way for a few lovely moments until I touched his face, causing him to look down at me, I pressed my lips against his and he quickly reciprocated the kiss with his own.

Kissing him was perfect and my mind went completely blank.

I also respected him so much since he turned our growing make-out session into fun playful pecks all my face.

I smiled and look at him when he finally stopped.

"Thanks." I sounded embarrassed once again.

He smiled before kissing my forehead, "it's easy to get carried away with you...but I'd never let myself in fear that I'd feel like I'm rushing you.

"Well I gonna go out on a limb and guess you're more experienced than me." I confessed.

He looked me in the eye before he nodded, a slight look of shame flashed across his face.

I touched his handsome face and he touched his forehead to mine, I could tell he didn't want to look at me.

"Hey everyone's got a past...but I can't wait to experience our future together."
