Chapter Seven: Confessions-part 2
-Cordelia-I woke up and for the first time ever I recalled the dream, every detail, every feeling, our entire conversation.
I wanted to cry because I could remember him.
I grabbed my journal and wrote down everything, I didn't want to chance forgetting this...I would hate to forget something so beautiful and pure.
After I finished with that I tucked my journal away in my purse and got ready for school.
I had to take the bike this morning, but I could care less...I was on cloud nine and all I wanted to do was find Maxine, let her read everything and fill in any questions. Thankfully they were waiting for me on the stairs like always. I locked my bike up and they came over to me.
"Sherrie's got something to tell you." Maxine sounded a little upset, my heart began to race.
I looked at Maxine, surely she wouldn't tell Sherrie everything, she promised to keep it a secret until I was ready to tell her.
I looked at Sherrie now, she seemed calm. "What's up?"
"Guess who talked to me today?"
"You've got to be kidding me...it worked?" I asked genuinely surprised. "But it's only been one night."
At this I notice she cast her eyes down.
"What did you do?" I asked worried now.
"Nothing much, and you're right yesterday was the first time I tried with him...but I may have been using my daydreams to try it out as well as my actual nightly dream."
My eyes went wide."is that safe?" I asked with concern. I recalled that using the trick too much can cause harm to the individual or the person doing it. "How many times did you actually try Sherrie."
"Well I mean technically I've only done it for one day...the book says to try for a week, they never mentioned how many times a day we're allowed to do it."
"How many times was it Sher?"
"I don't know the exact number." She countered defensively.
I was worried for her, "sum it up then."
She scoffed, Sherrie hated to be put on the spot for being in trouble, "geez guys it's not that serious...I mean I tried twice at first, once in the hall, maybe a few times when I was at the library...I don't remember if I attempted to do it at home before bed but of course I did it before I fell asleep." She admitted.
Maxine looked at me a little worried, "Sherrie." I sounded softly, Maxine and I both knew how sensitive Sherrie could be. "Just be careful okay, try saving it for night time only." I suggested.
Just then Bryan walked over to us.
"Hey Sherrie." He smiled.
She smiled back at him, "hey Bryan."
"Yeah good morning Bryan." Maxine sounded sarcastically.
"Oh, uh...morning ladies...anyways, Sherrie" he said turning back to face Sherrie, "walk you to class?"
She nodded and they left us.
"Uh did that seem weird to you?" I asked.
"Super weird." Maxine agreed. "Lets head to class."
