Chapter 37

This couldn't be Lucy's address, but it was. The exact address Gramps gave. Lucy lives in a...MANSION! 

He must be dreaming. This is all a dream. A sick dream at that but a dream is a dream. Luce living in a mansion? Luce missing school? Definitely dreaming.

"What the hell?" Gray muttered as he walked the long distance up to the door along with everyone. Erza, Jellal, Juvia, Gray, Levy, Gajeel, Mira, Wendy, Romeo, and Natsu all came for this.

Getting over his shock (Author-Chan is going to tell you a secret because she just LOVES to insert herself into the story and somehow make it about her. Natsu NEVER gets over his shock. Ooh...I should tell another secret now that I'm going. #SpoilerElert. Actually it's more like a #Teaser. Skip if you don't want to read. Someone else is going to get kidnapped. c;)

Getting over his shock, Natsu races up and bangs on the door. "HELLO!?! LUCE?!"

It took longer than expected for the door to be answered. The tall man opened the door slowly, jaw clenched. "Who are you? What do ya want?"  His skin paled as he laid eyes on the group of teenagers surrounding his door.

"Lucy's father! Where is Lucy?!" Erza spoke, voice booming as she stomped up the stairs clenching the man's shirt and pulling him down to face her. "Erza," Jellel whispered tapping her shoulder.

Erza turned to notice his expression and let go of the man.

"I don't care what Jellel says! You tell me what's going on!" Natsu yelled, angrily, an unnatural tone of seriousness in his voice.

The man's look of worry, fear, anxiety, whatever you'd like to call it changed. He still looked concerned, scared out of his wits, but Natsu had a feeling creeping at the back of his neck. HE didn't know what or why, but he was pretty sure a smile ghosted the corners of the man's lips for a brief second. 

"Lucy? My dear Lucy? Oh no, I mustn't tell!" No one seemed to pay mind to a man who stumbled up to the doorway acting drunk who know was spitting lines straight out of a British soap opera.

"Where is she! Is she here?" Natsu barged past the door going from room to room in a scurry, his worry increasing. 

"No, she isn't." The man sat down in the seat of Natsu's most recently checked room. He pulled out a handkerchief and dabbed his forehead. He definitely looked like a broken worried man. 

"You keep a napkin in your pocket?" Natsu asked intently only receiving glares and eye rolls. 

"Oh, my poor, poor Lucy." 

"Lucy? Where is she?" Levy asked, obviously concerned. Her hand instinctively grabbed Gajeel's hand and gripped it tight.

"She's gone! Missing I tell you!"

"Did you contact the police?" Romeo asked out of the blue.

"...Uh...No...." The man fumbled on his words.

"Why not?" Jellal asked.

"Uh...I gotta a call...Yeah, I gotta a call. From her kidnappers!" The man spoke slightly to enthusiastic for Natsu's taste given what he just said.

Luce. Kidnapped. Luce. Kidnapped. Luce. Kidnapped. Natsu was having trouble processing the words. And then, it struck. 

The fear looped around in his mind until there was no room for anything else. (Not like there's much going on in there anyone, Natsu XD.) Oh my god. 

Natsu was frozen. What was he supposed to do? He had so much confidence. He believed he could fix whatever was wrong in a snap (Oh *snap* didn't mean to make an Infinity War reference, especially because when other people do it, it kills me but whatever. See what I did there?) All he had to do was find Lucy he thought.

But what could he really do? What was he capable of doing now? Lucy's kidnapped. She somewhere, anywhere in the world, probably somewhere super hard to find, kidnapped by any one of the 7 billion people who exist, and could die at any moment. This is a life or death situation and what could he do? Nothing! He could do nothing. Just stand there. 

Lucy could die. This is Luce were talking about. So what if it's impossible?! So what if he can't do it?! So what if he doesn't know how to?! He has too.

 Nothing else matters right now. Nothing else ever mattered.

Except Luce.

A/N: Yes, I put an Author's note at the end of the chapter, what is to become of me?! So I had someone reach out to me and say that they like my story but pretty much hate my Author's notes and find them annoying.

That's not why I put it at the end of the chapter btw.

I just want to say I've been selfish a lot with this whole process. I've been keeping you guys waiting because I stop at random dates. 

Not only that but I've been having to deal with a lot of problems recently so I've been maybe oversharing because I needed to vent. Talk to someone you know? And yes, I didn't share everything, just some problems that were going on at that moment but I still want to apologize if I bothered you. 

This is supposed to be a fun experience. (Is it though? I mean we're talking about abuse murder and kidnapping here aren't we. No, no I am not going back and putting commas in that sentence. #ThugLife.)

So yes, I feel that talking about my problems a lot and choosing to pause was being selfish. Sorry.

I also wanted you to know that I read EVERY SINGLE COMMENT. 

I realized today when I was watching youtube and found a youtube who responds to every single comment you guys don't know. I don't reply a lot because I don't know what to say. I have trouble starting conversations and replying but that is my fault and I'm going to work on it.

Still, I take every single comment to heart and read all of them. All of you are very important to me. I really wanted you to know that. 

I also really do hope you like these 'chats.' By that I don't mean my long written apologize, I have a lot of those. I mean question of the day type of stuff. Which I now realize is not really question of the day because I don't post every day. *Insert cry face.* 

Yeah. God, now I feel like saying sorry for always saying sorry. Here it is people! That cliche moment you find where someone apologizes for apologizing too much. Sorry for saying sorry all the time XD. 

Anyways...Hope I'm not annoying. I love you guys.
