Above is Kyro's Coyote form!
^^
Back in class! Thought I'd be happy but turns out, I was bombarded with questions. I still had some bandages on and the smell lingered only a bit. You wouldn't be able to tell it was there if you weren't directly next to me.
Even so, on the track, the wind was blowing to hard to decipher any of the smells I was picking up. I was stood next to a Coyote shifter boy who was wearing gym clothes like the rest of us. I was the last in the line, meaning I was next to the grass. The only person I actually knew in this class was Josh, and I still didn't consider him a friend just yet.
Sifting my position slightly, a sore feeling erupted from my leg but I ignored it and focused on the teacher. "We will be running laps today. You will be running until you can't run anymore. You are not allowed to walk but you can decrease to a fast jog." He stated as some of the class let out a long groan.
I held back an amused snort and shifted again into a running position this time. My muscles tensed and ready to take off at full speed at any second.
The other students went into a running position, different from mine. Because I was guessing that we were going to run in animal form, (I mean it's Shifting Class... ) I called Lilac to the front of my mind and waited patiently for him to blow the whistle.
When it blew I was the first away from the track starting line and I instantly was in my snow leopard form sprinting the track. The ground flew under me and I pressed my legs to go faster, almost unable to keep up with myself I shot laps, lapping the other people. I slowed myself into a jog that was still easily faster than everyone.
Minutes later, people were collapsed on the ground breathing like they were just submerged under water for the whole time. And to be fair they were all sweating enough to pass as that! I was still in leopard form running laps with a few other boys that refused to let a girl beat them. My breathing was starting to hitch but they were already panting.
I was going from in between a glorified jog and a fast sprint. The coyote boy was surprising one of the last boys still going. Though why should that surprise me when coyotes in the wild have amazing stamina.
When everyone finally collapsed onto the grass I slowed to a stop, panting slightly but not as heavy as the others. I shifted back and sat on the ground pulling long strands of grass out of the ground and using all the delicateness in the world, tied them into little knots until they broke from the constant pulling.
When everyone had calmed their breathing we sat and got water bottles that were sealed by magic for each of us. I opened mine and downed it all quickly. I thought to myself for a moment and decided I needed to run laps or something more often because I was getting out of shape. Or what I would like to call out of shape anyway. Thinking about it, I couldn't really go as fast as I wanted with my leg still being sore.
A frown of thought seeped onto my face as stared at the water bottle. "Hey, your Sapphire, right?" I male voice snapped me out of my trance and I looked up at none other than Coyote boy himself.
I gave a curt nod, "Correct. Is there something I could help you with?" I asked and set down my water bottle on the cool green grass. "Mmmm I just wanted to introduce myself, I'm Kryo, and I'm a coyote shifter. I got turquoise for my stone." He smiled sheepishly. "Up until this point, I was the only one with our kind of stone." He murmured and sat down a reasonable distance from me. "'Our stone?'" I asked a little confused. He nodded, "Your a blue stone right?"
I hesitated a moment. My memory flashed back to a little slip of paper tucked under my pillow that I had gotten before going to classes. It was from the headmaster saying I should keep my stone private. I shook my head 'no'. He looked at me confused, "I'm green." I stated uncomfortably shifting away from him, in the way a lower stone would.
A look a puzzlement went over his face as he studied me. Unfortunately for him, I wasn't an open book, and when I felt a slight tickle at the back of my mind I sent invisible barriers down over my mind and glared at him as he flinched. I stood up ignoring the stiffness in my leg, I started walking away from him, "Oh, one last thing," I turned on my heel and faced him a snarl hinting in my next words, "I don't like people snooping in my thoughts, think you very much!" I growled and turned and stomped off to run more laps and get rid of the negative energy.

Classes were finally over and I made my way to the Dining hall for dinner. Because my class was released early I sat at the lunch table and drummed my fingers on the table rhythmically trying to clear my mind.
I was still unfocused when the tingling in my head started again, I whipped around simultaneously slamming the door to my mind in the same instant as I glared Kyro from across the room. He was chatting with a few friends harmlessly, but I didn't miss how he glanced up at me for a split second.
I let out a low growl and turned back to my table, having a sudden murderous thought a let a smirk grow on my face and I let down my mental barriers and pictured Kyro dead on the ground. Blood everywhere, I pictured every gory detail of the ripped out throat. I could feel the tingling in my head and behind me, an audible gasp of panic and fear sounded.
The smirk grew on my face and I shut the doors to my mind again. That should teach the damn mind reader to focus on his own thoughts! I then continued tapping my fingers smugly. When Devon and Chase got to the Dining hall they looked about ready to collapse. Chase actually did and slammed his head onto the table in exhaustion.
"Let me guess. Shifting class?" I asked, eyeing them smirking. Chase said nothing but nodded, his face still on the table. "It's not that bad..." I chuckled and earned glares from them.
"Geese, don't murder me." I raised an eyebrow and got up, "I'll go get food for us." I stated and walked away to the line that was slowly forming. I grabbed a bowl of fruit for myself, and 2 plates of mashed potatoes and steak for Chase and Devon.
I walked back to the table and slid their plates to them before spearing a watermelon chunk with my fork and popping it in my mouth.
***
I yawned and took my now empty bowl over to a bin labeled 'dirty' then went back to the boys. Chase looked half asleep and Devon was feebly trying to keep his eyes open. I let out a snort and shook Chase out of his stupor. "C'mon, let's get back and we can head to bed." I smiled at him and he mumbled something I couldn't quite pick up. He forced himself up and off his seat only to collapse on my shoulder.
Rolling my eyes wrap my arm around him and help him to the dorm, Devon quietly following behind.
Finally getting to the dorm I dragged Chase into his room and sat him on the bottom bunk. I then exited the room and made my way to mine. I changed into some baggy PJ's and clambered under the covers.
Before closing my violet eyes I thought of everything that had happened in the past 2 weeks and let out a contented sigh.
