Sky was counting the chips on the metal of the man's blades when it happened. The man left for work several hours before and Elijah wasn't due home from school for a few hours yet, so when the vibrations in the house signaled the presence of another body he was immediately intrigued. The body entered near the back, probably sneaking in through a window, and walked steadily through the house until their energy was right in front of the door to the basement. The door opened, coating the dim room with bright artificial lighting, and down walked the intruder. Their eyes locked on each other and Sky's face immediately broke out into a tired smile. Here to save him was none other than his beloved brother Fury.

At the sight of Sky's condition, Fury had to pause his steps and take several deep breaths. His brother's body was naked and coated in a thick layer of his own dried blood. The floor below him was stained red, and there was a pile nearly as tall as his brother of his own skin to the left of where he lay. Body parts were strewn about the room in various stages of decay now that they were no longer attached to their host. Sky himself seemed absolutely calm. His head rested on his arms, and he looked as if he was about to fall asleep any second. He was obviously happy to see Fury, but he didn't look like he was in a rush to get out of his current predicament. He knew that his brothers would have made a plan, and he was patient enough to let them see it through.

"If I don't leave now I'm going to set this house on fire so just wait until you feel a hard banging on the door. Wait ten seconds and then scream at the top of your lungs, got it?" Sky nodded, and Fury bolted out of the room as fast as he could.

Sky didn't know how long he spent focusing on the front door, but when the violent vibrations came he counted to ten and belted out as loud as he could for as long as he could. He took a deep breath and screamed again as he felt the front door to the house being broken down. Several bodies entered the house at once, and he screamed one more time, hoping that one of them would hear him. His prayers were answered when the door to the basement opened once more, but this time Detective Wyatt came sturdily down the stairs.

An anonymous call had been made to the precinct claiming to have seen a woman being dragged into the house, and almost immediately after they were notified that a neighbor had called emergency services because someone was screaming bloody murder. Wyatt and Sparks knew immediately that it had to be the killer they were looking for. He came down the stairs identifying himself to the young woman that had been reportedly dragged inside, and he was incredibly surprised to see that not only was there no woman, but the person chained to the wall was none other than Sky Tennae. The boy had never truly been a suspect, but there was something about him that made the detective's weary whenever he was involved. He was unlike anyone they had ever met before, and his attitude made them suspicious. That being said, the sight before him erased any mistrustful thought the detective had ever had about the boy in regards to this case. His eyes were sunken and sallow, and the state of both his body and the room made Detective Wyatt wonder just how long he had been there. He'd been reported missing of course, but he hadn't known because it wasn't his department.

Once he shook off his shock, the detective called for his partner to bring a pair of bolt cutters and to get an ambulance onsite as soon as possible. Sky was having a hard time focusing on the detective's lips, and he tried to raise his hand to wave in greeting, but his body felt too heavy to move. He hadn't eaten since he'd been taken, and although there were no marks he had been through a great amount of trauma. Detective Sparks had to take a deep breath to keep from vomiting the moment she stepped into the room. She carefully held Sky's wrists and ankles to one side of his cuffs as her partner slipped the cutters underneath and used his Shifter strength to cut them off with minimal effort. Sky nearly sighed at the feeling of finally being free without the added burden of missing an appendage. Detective Wyatt carefully lifted the boy off the ground and carried him up the stairs and out of the house. It had been so long since Sky had seen the sun he had to close his eyes to protect them from the brightness. The moment he did, his brain shut down and sent him immediately to sleep.
