Quick note: This a song I wrote for the victims, veterans, martyrs and survivors of war so it would probably sound better if you read this to yourself with the attatched instrumental in the background from 0:40
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So you see it's been quite a while
Since I saw that cheeky little smile
And oh it feels like so long
If everything's alright what am I doing wrong
I don't know but I'll keep on trying
Cause we're here crying in each other's arms
Trying hard to keep calm and carry on
While everyone else runs from the firing guns
Bullets spraying in the air like a mist
Little bits fly and zip hitting, clicking and missing those kissing
In their final moments in this godforsaken town
Flesh and brick yeah apparently it's all the same shiz now
Tick tock time's going daddy's gotta go now
These tinmen are heartless breaking their vows oh wow
How can you do this we're your sisters and your brothers
How can you kill the newborn child of a mother
How can we share the same old planet if we don't have the courage to stand up and man up and when a man's down give him a helping hand regardless of who's around and the cracking sound of ammunition being loaded
We say we hate this story but we are the ones who wrote it
And we say we're being hacked but we're the one's breaking code and as matter of fact
As the asthma attacks
The smoke of war consuming all life and hope like a snack
And we turn to see yet another broken neck cracked
A corpse on the pavement being shaken by a little child that
Cries and as she wipes her eyes pleads and says that she's had more than enough of being brave
And enough of humans dying in such a way
And if only daddy'd just wake up then things might be okay
And finally the tinman's heart starts to beat and it's weak but we can hear the squeak as it starts to pump again
Flowing life, cascading rain, dripping down the window panes of a train
One hand on either side as the two kindred spirits sigh and say goodbye
I'll see you on the other side before I die
And a tear falls from an eye like the hail falls from the sky
And the nightmares that are dreams change
Just for a moment
And the road straightens out and you no longer have to shout to know if anyone's about cause we're all in this now
And just for a moment
Everything's okay...
