Hae Wong was ushered into his father's office.

The tone in his voice on voicemail and in his text messages when he had summoned him to come doubtlessly meant that he was impatient.

What was that urgent matter that could not be delayed?

Hae Wong hoped it was a real emergency since he had to shorten his perfectly perfect, love-filled date with his Jimin to attend.

Upon seeing his son entering the almost floor-wide room of his office, his father laconically asked the employees that were present to leave them alone.

They all bowed their way out, first to Lee Jum Seung, then to Hae Wong, as soon as the latter entered the luxurious space.

Remaining seated at his imposing desk, the head of the office kept on working on his papers as his son got nearer and took a seat.

Once on their own Hae Wong sat patiently and waited for his father to speak out.

As he kept quiet, after a few minutes in the cold silence of the head's office, the blonde started the conversation.

"Good evening, Father," he greeted respectfully.

His father did not react.

He went on.

"You wanted to see me?" he asked in a dutiful tone.

"Of course I wanted to see you!" the patriarch replied, irritation unhidden.

"What is it that you wanted to discuss?" he patiently ventured.

"There is no discussion," he harshly uttered.

Hae Wong raised his eyebrows. Now he was curious.

The government worker did not pace down.

"You are here to listen and do what you should, as you've always done before. I am confident that this will be the case today too," he very categorically added.

Hae Wong had indeed never challenged or questioned his father's professional decisions, at least never beyond the point of a healthy, calm, "constructive" discussion.

If "constructive" meant he finally abided by his old man's opinion and decisions.

He had always respected his elders, and his parents more particularly, as the good, obedient son he was.

He considered his genitor as more experienced, and wise in business, and as such he had always obeyed his demands and commands.

Even when he was aware that they were disguised under the appearance of advice.

Thus he was taken aback at the words that followed.

"You're going to stop this disgusting little habit of yours right now!"

It knocked the breath out of Hae Wong.

He found it physically difficult to utter any word.

He had to strain his throat to ask his next question.

"I beg your pardon, Father??" he managed to say in a croaky voice.

He was astounded.

His mind started to work at his usual light speed on a train of thoughts.
