With the sky a perfect midnight velvet over head, a pale crescent moon highlighted by the dazzling twinkle of stars, the night looked at ease. Peaceful. The fog finally dissipating to leave things seeming as if it'd never been. Just gazing at the shinning canvas above providing a sense of calm. The brunette realizing then, eyes on the heavens,  they were at the mercy of this enchantingly deadly place.

And despite the terror that accompanied that realization. Casey felt content.

Because waiting inside that metal deathtrap, their last remaining piece of home, she'd briefly lost hope of seeing the sky. Feeling the sun on her skin. The woman determined to never live without such things ever again. Knowing Earth would ultimately kill them but satisfied to endure it.

"Not thinking of me with that wistful look in your eyes are you?" Miller approached with his typical lighthearted smirk. Casey glancing to him briefly as he took his place at her side, mimicking her actions as he gazed to the sky.  The brunette able to see the effort he was putting behind the gesture. None of them truly feeling like smiling. "Nahh, i'm not tall enough."

He was trying to ease her worries, teasing her, though he had his own to handle. A look of longing taking over the man briefly as he laughed. It sounding bleak and hollow. Ocean eyes joining his in studying the heavens once more Casey was reminded of all the conversations they'd shared over their time in lock up. The bond they'd created. Thankful for his comforting presence now. The brunette knowing Miller's flirtatious banter was just that, banter. But she didn't want him to feel he needed to be fake round her. At least not when they were alone.

"Cut the crap. You'll never be into me."

The man stiffening subtly at the unsaid implication behind those words, though she'd spoke them with open acceptance. Miller having always suspected she'd known he was gay. It was just a topic neither of them had brought up and so neither of them did now. Casey accepting his choice of subtly. Slipping into comfortable silence. Both their minds were on the men they feared to never see again. Miller separated from his by the sky itself.

"We'll get back in touch with them." Casey sighed, her eyes slipping closed. Focusing herself on the positive. Keeping the future she craved in sight even against the doubt. Determined to find a way to make it all work. Even if she had to do it all herself. "Everyone."

Miller touched by the hope in her eyes as she'd looked to him. Smiling softly, almost sadly, her determination easing his own fears. Casey comforting him when she was in turmoil herself. This woman knowing the right things to say to affect your very soul.

"Monty's going to get the communications working. Jasper will get better. We'll save the Ark. And we'll find everyone else....... We'll get everyone back."

He was silent a moment, perhaps pondering her words, as Miller held her gaze. Searching. Then he laughed, it being a short burst of sound. The smile returned as he shook his head slightly.

"Yeah."

Octavia was going to kill her. Well that is, if Casey didn't die in these damn woods tonight. Silently cursing her lack of weaponry. She'd been unable to wait, knowing the fog was gone, knowing her people were still out there. And after she'd returned to the dropship to find Octavia resting by Jasper's side, the brunette had decided to hell with waiting. She'd find them all and bring them home. Her anxiety demanding it. This suicidal rescue mission not something she wanted to risk bringing any others on. O would of never let her leave alone. If the worst was to happen at least they'd only be loosing one.

Still Casey would never leave them unprepared. Leaving a resistant Miller specific instructions. Harper having proven more than resourceful over the course of their day had been left with a fail safe plan in case none of them returned at all. She'd initially insisted on going but the brunette had been firm in her denial.
