12. Garrett

When we arrived at Shane's house I wanted to ask Ron if everything was okay, because he looked out of the window the whole ride. He was so quiet and he never was that before. I decided to leave it yet I really want to talk to him.

Shane called out for everyone to sit down on the couch so we walked over to it and sat down. Sadly Ron sat down next to Ryland and Morgan. Andrew sat down next to me and Shane sat down next to Ryland.

"Let's wrap up the series," Shane says. I glare over at Ron and he looks at his hands. I bite my lip, holding in words. He looks sad and kind of scared. I exchange a look with Morgan and she looks at Ron.
"Ron?" Morgan asks soflty.
He looks up at her, "Yeah?"
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, why?"
"You don't look okay..."
Everyone is listening to them right now. Ron notices it and opens up.
"I'm just scared that my mom will find this and will come for you or me. Or that somehow people find out who my mom is or something like that..."

At this point I just want to wrap my arms around the boy and just help him.
But I can't since I am not next to him.

"What do you think your mom is going to do when she find out?" Shane asks after a moment of silence.
"I don't know... Go after you guys?" he answers with a scared look in his eyes.
"We can deal with that."
"I just don't want you guys to get hurt or something. Only because of me. I'm not worth it."
"Don't say that!" I say. "You're an amazing human being. You're so nice and kind. You don't deserve any of the thing you've gone through. Please don't say things like that."
He looks at me for a few seconds and then shakes his head while looking down.

I get up and look at Morgan with a look  saying that she needs to get up so I can sit next to him. He understands the look and gets up. We switch seats and I sit down next to Ron and wrap my arms around him.
"Ron, please. Everything is going to be fine. So what if your mom finds out? We can protect one another and you."
He smiles and rests his body against me. "I just hope that everything will be fine."
I rub his back soflty. "It will be, I promise."

I look at Andrew and I see that he started recording. I give the camera a weak smile. He focus my attention back to Ron. He is slowly calming down.
"Please, don't try to worry about it too much. We got your back," I say soflty.
"We won't let something get to you, okay?" Ryland comes in. "And we will take care of your mom if nesesery."
"Thank you guys," he says softly. "I don't know how I deserve you guys."
Ryland and I both smile.
