Faye Dawson
"How you feeling?"
"Scared. Nervous. Do I look ok?"
"Mum. You look fine I wouldn't of told you to get the dress if I didn't like it."
"Ten minutes!" A man said through the large wooden doors of the hotel.
I looked to my Mum who was dressed in a modest, simple wedding gown with her hair pinned back and the natural makeup I did for her.
I looked at us both in the mirror. I was in my halter neck navy blue, flowing bridesmaids dress with my hair long and flowing with the same natural makeup as Mum had.
"Is Shawn here ok? Is he dressed? Oh god Faye im so nervous" Mum said pacing with her bouquet hung at her side.
"I don't know but we have to go out there now. You ready?" I said holding out my arm out for her.
We stood together outside, waiting round the corner. Mum chose to get married in the gardens of a London hotel and it really was beautiful.
We heard the sound of music and chairs scraping back as people rose from their seats awaiting Mum. I looked to her and linked our arms as we began to walk. She smiled as I smiled at her. We came into view of friends and family and everyone turned to look at us. I scanned over and saw Shawn stood a few people down from where Mark stood. He looked so handsome in his black suit. I smiled at him and he smiled widely but I looked away as me and Mum walked down the aisle.
"You sure this is ok with you Faye. I know it seems soon but I do love him"
"Mum. I'm fine with Mark. Besides, it's a bit late to turn back now" I said as we came to the end of the aisle.
Briefly, I took my Mum into my arms and held her tightly, before she was led to the little archway by Mark.

I stood behind Mum but just to the side so I could see Shawn. We locked eyes and he started to mouth words to me.
'You look beautiful' me mouthed and i felt heat rise to my cheeks. I smiled back whilst fiddling with my ring trying to focus on the ceremony.
I looked at Shawn whilst the vows were being said and again he was mouthing the vows, his big brown eyes staring into my own. A chill went down my spine, thinking of what mine and Shawn's wedding would look like...if we had one.
Before I knew it everyone was cheering and clapping and I drew my eyes away from Shawn to see the kiss, to which I clapped and hugged mums shoulders.
I walked back to the hotel by the side of my mum and into the grand reception room. Slowly we all walked into the place and it was beautiful and light with white and blue decorations and flowers. Name plaques stood on plates and around seven round tables stood around the outside of the dance floor.

Whilst I was admiring the room I felt two familiar hands wrap around my waist lovingly.
"Hey you" Shawn whispered in my ear as people walked to their seats.
"Hey. We're sat with Mum and Mark" I said holding Shawn's hand leading him over to the only rectangular table in the room.
We sat down and started talking with Mum, Mark and my grandparents about the future.
"So Shawn, Faye, how long have you two been together now?" My Grandma asked and I felt Shawn slip his hand into mine.
"Well. I've liked Faye for almost a year now but we've been dating for about six or so months? I have to admit I'm not really sure. I don't count because every day with her is just so special." Shawn said melting every woman's heart that was sat at our table.
"Well it'll be you two to do all this next then won't it by the looks of that ring on your finger" Grandpa said and a blush came to my cheeks.
"It's just a promise ring Grandpa we're not engaged just yet" I said squeezing Shawn's hand.
"Though I would love to Marry your granddaughter someday sir" Shawn said with a big smile on his face, causing Grandpa to smile right back.
"Well you treat her well and you'll have our blessing. We've been married over sixty years now. The key to a relationship, and listen to this well, never go to sleep knowing you're angry with each other. Because then you'll wake up angry and it just leads you down a rock path" My Grandpa said and I nodded having heard those words many times before.

I watched as Mum and Mark had their first dance together and they really did look like they were in love. It was a beautiful thing to see after Mum had been so unhappy for a long time.
Soon enough people were joining in on the dance floor and I looked up at Shawn.
"Don't even think about it. I can't dance." Shawn said and I rolled my eyes placing my hand in his.
"It's not dancing it's moving from side to side whilst holding each other." I said pulling him onto the dance floor correctly positioning his hands.
We stared gently moving with each other, bodies pressed close, I pressed my head to his chest and felt his heart beat.
"He's right your grandpa, this could all be ours one day" Shawn whispered and I smiled.
"I know"
"Faye I really don't think I should go back. I want to stay here with you" Shawn said and I lifted my head up.
"Shawn Mendes I promise you that I will always come back to you. Wherever you are I will find you and come back to you" I said and he nodded kissing me gently.

Being there with Shawn, knowing that this very well could be ours one day did make me nervous about him leaving, yet the thought of me being his wife made me certain that I would always come back to him.
