Rebecca POV
Today was results day. The day both me and Grace had been working our asses off for. Being the slight nerd I was, I was predicted A’s and A*’s in every subject. The opposite of Sophie, my other best friend who didn’t achieve anything from not doing her exams.
“What if I fail? What if I’ve got a B in everything?” I say quickly, biting my nails as I stare at Sophie’s laptop in front of me.
I’m surprised I managed to ask her if I could borrow it after what I witnessed this morning. Her hair was in a towel after doing the pastel pink hair again as she raised an eyebrow.
“Even I didn’t do my exams, and I still know a B is a pass…” Sophie laughs.
That was true I suppose… “But I’m predicted nothing lower than an A in every class…” I say softly biting my lip as she shakes her head, walking off to wash the dye out.
Once she had put her hair up in one of her messy buns with a plait down the side, she sat down cross legged in her green and black tartan leggings and baggy white t-shirt with socks bunched at her ankles. Her comfy look.
The laptop dinged to show I had an email. My head teachers name flashing on the screen as my eyes went wide.
“Guys! Guys it’s here!” I call loudly, clapping my hands before hovering over the email.
Everyone came and sat down. Sophie on Michael’s lap with her arms around his waist causing me to shiver as the scene of this morning flashed across my mind.
I clicked on the email, staring at the screen before going wide eyed as I looked at the letters before me.
“Art… A. Drama… A*. English… A.” I say to myself, smiling wide at the results.
Everything was an A or an A*.
“I passed! I passed everything with A’s and A*’s!” I scream standing up happily before hugging everybody.
My face buried in Ashton’s chest as I hugged my close friend. Grinning as I held his t-shirt.
I soon pulled away, making my way over to the last person who was awkwardly waiting for his hug. Hands in pockets and looking down.
Being as excited I was I grabbed his cheeks, pulling him forward and pressing my lips to his hard. A cold piece of metal was felt on my lip as I did so, making me pull away quickly.
“Luke I uh-“ I stutter trying not laugh.
Something Sophie had begun to loudly.
“It’s cool…” He chuckles, biting his lip softly, playing with the lip ring.
“Maybe I should have gone to Specsavers” I tease poking my glasses as he laughs softly.
“I should go and see how Grace did, I know her parents were the first to know” He nods as I smile, patting his back gently.
Well.
Today really is an awkward day.
