Calum’s POV
“Today you have a day off to explore the city as the 1D boy’s are busy preparing for their Good Morning America live performance and have a few interviews too. Enjoy it because it’s a busy day tomorrow with the first Where We Are tour show in the US.” Our manager announced to me and my band mates. We were all gathered into Luke’s room for a quick meeting before we separated into our own ways once again.
The girls were still asleep and the One Direction gang had left, leaving me to watch TV in peace. Ashton entered my room, a towel hanging low on his lightly wet hips. Water droplets travelled down his chest whilst he used a small towel to dry his curly locks.
“Are you checking me out?”
“No, man that’s just gross. I was just shocked at your appearance, how logn have you been here? Were you using my shower?”
“No I used Rebecca’s, I got it earlier than usual so it was free for when she woke.”
“Guessing you know her pass lock for her room?”
“I’ve always used her shower; it’s a habit from being in that hotel one with a broken one for so long.”
“Niall would kill you if he found you in her room like that.” He just shrugged and continued to dry his hair. “I’m serious man, that towel doesn’t look like it would hold for much longer.”
“I knew you were checking me out.”
“Haha very funny.”
I looked up to see Rebecca tiredly walk through the already open door of my hotel room, still dressed in her pyjamas.
“Morning” Her groggy voice from the earliness called out as she slumped down beside me, not even bothered by Ashton’s minimal clothing. I looked over my shoulder to Ashton as he winked over at me. Had something gone on? No it couldn’t have, Rebecca wasn’t the type to cheat. “Earth to Calum” Her hand was waved in my face as I pushed it aside.
“It’s early, I was thinking.”
“About?” I didn’t get chance to answer as Sophie too decided to join this little morning group that was developing.
“Becky!” Her voice was sharp and angry, causing Rebecca to wince from the loudness.
“Sophie it’s morning will you quieten your voice.” She rubbed her temples, wincing more before frowning up to her angry friend.
“I don’t care what time of day it is. You didn’t have your shower in my room.”
“I haven’t even had my shower?”
“It’s gone 8! You always have your shower at 8?”
“Only on weekends? And I’m tired today. Niall had to wake up at 5.”
“Friday is the weekend?”
“Go back to school.” She groaned pulling herself up from the couch. “What’s got into you today? You never complain about my showers.” Rebecca left the room but Sophie didn’t follow, instead she filled Becca’s previous spot with folded arms and a pout. He eyes examined the TV before her, a cute puppy taking up the screen. Instantly, her frown faded as she smiled wide, squealing at the puppy on the screen.
“Loook! It’s so cuteeee” A giggle escaped her until she fell into a heap of unstoppable giggles. Odd looks were sent her way, I looked over at Ashton who now had dry hair and was wearing a shirt that he brought in with him.
“Um… I’m going to get some pants then male pancakes.”
“PANCAKES!” Sophie was now on her feet jumping around the room squealing about pancakes as Ashton quickly escaped but she followed him.
They returned minutes later, Sophie still in a hyped mood. “There’s no way you’re cooking in this kitchen, any vandalism and you’re paying the fine.” I knew of Ashton’s past in the kitchen and Sophie seemed too hyper to be trusted, I was in no mood for some hotel worker coming round and giving me a 100 pound fine.
“Whatever, everyone is coming to make pancakes since Sophie decided to invite them in the loudest way possible.” As if right on cue, Michael, Luke and a now washed Rebecca, whose hair was still wet, entered the room sharing grins. I groaned pulling myself from my comfortable position and followed them into the kitchen.
“Who’s flipping?” I asked the group of big kids who were sat in various places in the kitchen, Rebecca sat on the counter by Ashton who was in charge of mixing, Sophie squirming about in Michael’s arms and Luke sat on the floor texting most likely Grace, when I received no answer I almost gulped. “Sophie it’s your pancake you sure you don’t want to flip it?”
“I wouldn’t trust her if I were you” Michael laughed, still trying to tame his hyper girlfriend.
“She’d do a better job than me, I can’t flip pancakes!” It was true, if she wants to eat her pancake on the floor then so be it. I huffed, giving in, and began to shuffle the pancake to the edge, hopefully making the flip easier. I counted myself down before flipping it on 3, as predicted the pancake fell flat on the floor’s surface.
When Sophie’s eyes found her pancake lying on the floor, a loud sob fell from her triggering her into loud cries. I was first of all shocked from her reaction, it was only a pancake? I could make another, right? Everyone was now watching Sophie cry over her fallen pancake, I felt guilty for making her cry but it was slightly over the top.
“What do I do?” I panicked as Michael looked over to me, expecting me to calm her.
“I dunno distract her with something else?”
“Apple juice!” Becky shouted out randomly, causing strange looks to be sent her way. “Sophie, have some apple juice! You can drink that whilst Calum makes another pancake for you.” Everyone once again watched Sophie, waiting for the mention of Apple juice to take effect on her and surprisingly it did. She jumped up from Michael’s lap and sprung open the fridge door, I bit my lip waiting for her to realise that there was no juice left.
“BECKY THERES NO FLAMING APPLE JUICE! YOU GOT MY HOPES UP!”
I mumbled into Ashton’s ear about her sudden freak, now I was scared.
“Woah calm down Soph! I didn’t kno-”
“SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS” A with that, Sophie skipped out into the other room, staring happily at the cartoon which played on the TV screen.
A moments silence passed as everyone processed Sophie’s actions but Luke broke it with a question that seemed to run through everyone’s minds.
“Is that girl possessed or something?”
