Courtney:
Shayne was pacing around the squad room in a circle. He had been doing this for the past five minutes or so, phone in hand. Honestly it was distracting me at this point.
"Shayne" I said.
"Yeah?" He said glancing at his phone again.
"You good?" I asked.
"Yeah I'm fine, completely fine, never been better" He said.
"You sure?" I asked raising an eyebrow.
"Totally fine" He said looking at his phone again.
I ignored his walking and went back to my laptop. I tried to keep writing the script for next week but again I got distracted. Shayne's circling the room was going to kill me.
"Shayne" I said.
"What?" He said.
"Why are you pacing in a circle?" I said annoyed.
"I'm uh just waiting on a call" Shayne explained.
"Could you maybe sit down and wait for it?" I asked.
"Oh yeah uh sorry" He said sitting at his desk.
"Thanks" I said turning back to my script.
As I was writing I could hear a foot repeatedly tapping the ground. I looked over and saw Shayne fidgeting. Why was he so impatient? I sighed and shut my laptop.
"Shayne, what's up?" I asked.
"What?" He asked.
"What's so important about this call?" I asked.
"Nothing" He said shrugging his shoulders.
"C'mon dude" I said skeptical.
"..... Fine, I asked a girl out to dinner earlier today.... I'm waiting on a reply from her" Shayne said.
"Aww that's sweet" I said.
"Yeah I guess I'm just nervous" He said.
"Oh c'mon, I'm sure she'll say yes" I reassured him.
"You think so?" He asked.
"Yes, just be confident" I told him.
"Thanks, I'm gonna use the restroom real quick" He said.
Shayne left to go to use the bathroom as I opened my laptop again. Might as well use the quiet moments to finish. I finished some sentences before Olivia walked in.
"Hey" I said.
"Hey uh I need some advice" She said.
"Sure, what's up?" I said.
"Let's just say somebody asked me to join them for dinner" She said.
"Aren't you with Sam?" I asked.
"Yeah.. I meant as like a friendly dinner" Olivia said.
"Oh, well what's wrong?" I asked.
"I don't know if I should go" She said.
"Why not?" I said.
"I don't want people getting the wrong idea" She replied.
"Who cares what other people think?" I said.
"You sure?" She said.
"Yeah, if it's just a friend who cares" I said.
"Thanks Court" Olivia said.
"No problem" I said.
"I'll see you later, Ian needs me" She said leaving.
I waved bye as she left and went back to my script. Shayne came back into the squad room shortly after.
"I'll talk you later, Ian needs me for a scene" He said.
"Ok, see ya" I said.
Shayne nodded and left the room. Finally I had some quiet to finish what I was working on. I hope both their dinners go well though. Maybe I'll get some takeout later.
