16 May Year 22

Hoseok hyung lived in a rooftop apartment at the end of a narrow alley. It was very high. After a long way up the Main Street and the winded roads through the alleys, you'd see hyung's home. As we entered the house, he'd brag about how this was the highest point of the city, where all the places we grew up would be under our feet. As hyung put it, a lot can be seen from the top. Not far away was the train station and trailers along the railroad tracks. Namjoon hyung lived in one of those. If I moved my eyes a little, right there, was the school we all attended together.

I looked at the school, then drew my gaze to the other side of the city. There were large apartment complexes along the mountainside. That's my house. No, that's my parents' house.

I ran away from the hospital without saying anything. My parents must've been contacted. They may be looking for me by now. I haven't been able to confront my parents yet. I left the hospital, but I couldn't go home. I never wanted to go back to the hospital, but I had nowhere to go, and no money. Hyung had told me to follow him and we ended up here, at his house.

I opened my eyes and looked at the apartment complex again. I had to tell my parents that I wouldn't go back to the hospital. I took a deep breath. The mere thought of it made me feel like it would cause a seizure. In fact, I couldn't believe I was able to endure well outside the hospital.

But I might have to go back there again. I was overwhelmed with fear. I couldn't stand it.
