3 years isn't a big difference

So just a quick note for all of you saying "3 years isn't a big difference":

It's a pretty big deal for an adult to date a minor, especially in this book where they're living together. That was added to give a sense of risk, almost anticipation for something to happen.

When they're adults, it's not a big deal. When one is a child, it is a big deal.

Furthermore, Shawn and Cory are making a big deal out of this because they're trying to protect Maya. I know that my dad isn't cool with me dating older guys. He's barely even okay with the one I'm dating right now who's a month younger than me.

Age really does matter. Josh and Maya may be okay with it, but the sensible adults in the story are not.

If you have any problems with this, you don't need to read it. If you have any questions about the book, feel free to ask them.
