I always look forward to the clock striking at 1 pm, for it announces that I'll be seeing Mr. Allen again for our Literature class.
"Why are you all smiley?" Nina ask me as we walk towards our classes.
"I just remember that hilarious cat video I saw last night." I lied.
"You're weird and that's what I like about you." She links her arms to mine. "But don't smile too often by yourself, people will think I have crazy best friends." I nodded.
I was already in my room door; we didn't have the same class, so she had to let me go but was being too stubborn.
"Can you just sit in with my class just for today?" She made a pouty face.
"You know I can't." I told her.
"As always." She rolls her eyes. "Yeah, yeah. Ms. Smarty pants!" Mocking me in a nerdy way.
"It's just one hour that we'll not be seeing each other. Be a good friend and go your way or you'll be late." I push her towards the other way.
"I love you so much it hurts every time we're apart." She dramatically grasps her shirt near her heart.
"Drama, drama, drama." Sebastian smack her sister's head and enter the classroom.
"Hey!" Nina was about to jump her brother and rip his head off, but I stopped her.
"Nina it's fine. Just go for now." I tried to calm her down.
"Jackass!" She yelled before finally agreeing with me.
I entered the room as soon as Nina left. Sitting down on the assigned seat which unfortunately was in front of Sebastian's. Not long after Mr. Allen enters the room.
"Good Afternoon Class!" He greeted with that ever-charming smile and accent. The class did the same, the girls who were loudly talking earlier was silenced and become so attentive all of a sudden. Like who wouldn't be if your teacher looks like a Hollywood actor. "Get your books and turn it to page 124." He started the lesson, gave us pointers and explanation on what was the poem all about.
"We'll be having an essay contest and I hope a lot of you will be willing to join. Here's the registration form, just give it to me or leave it on my table for those who are interested." He handed out the form by rows. "So, this ends our conquest for today. Goodbye."
I turn to give the form to Sebastian, but he was sleeping soundly, how can this guy sleep anywhere?
"Sebastian." I called his name but there was no response, not even a flinch. "Sebastian, Sebastian." Still nothing, students are leaving for their next class and so should I.
I tried to leave the form beside him on the table when he suddenly opened his eyes and startled me. "Oh." It got me to stand up, we were inches away from each other and I didn't want him to get the wrong idea.
"If you wanted to kiss me, you know you can just ask, and I'll be willing to comply." He stretched his arms from a great slumber.
"I-it wasn't that." I had the form in my hand. "I was just trying to put the paper on your desk." I gave him the form. He took a second glance and crumpled it. "Hey! Wouldn't you at least read it."
"I did." He stands and grabs his backpack.
"You didn't!" Taking the crumpled paper.
"Please, you're just so bothered because of Allen." He gives me a devilish smirk.
"B-bothered?" I stutter on my word.
"Deny it, I don't even care." Then he started walking out of the room.
"Hey! What do you mean by that?" I yelled out to him. He only shrugged his shoulders and left.
***
After school, we went to watch a movie. We've been going to the movies every Friday afternoon to just chat and enjoy each other's company."What's on your mind?" Nina sipping on her lemonade. "By the way, this is delicious."
"Nothing." I gave her a smile.
"Nothing means something so spill." She said raising a brow.
"It's Sebastian." I told her.
"Please, don't. Please, don't" she shakes her head eagerly.
"What are you saying?"
"Don't tell me you like my brother, it'll be incest." She wore a disgusted expression.
"No, no!" I immediately denied it. "I don't like your brother and If I did which I obviously am not, why would it be incest?"
"Like, you're like my sister and if you date him It'll be like dating your brother. But thank goodness you don't." She sighed in relief.
"Oh god!" I roll my eyes on her explanation.
"But what's with him?" She sips her drink again.
"Just he's been acting weird." I said.
"Please, my twin ended out on the floor because the doctor accidentally dropped him when he was born and cause such a huge impact on his brain development."
"But-"
"Piece of advice, just stay far, far, far, far away from him. He's bad news." She pats my shoulder like she was giving a preach.
"Okay, you're right." I told her.
"I know. Now let's watch that Blake Lively movie where she suddenly disappears." She drags me towards the theater booth.
There weren't many people in line, so we didn't wait that long.
"What can I do for you?" Nate asks he was on shift today.
Nina's sudden change of personality happens every time she sees Nate. She's been crushing on the new boy just as after he moved here 3 months ago. I was waiting for her to say something, but she seemed frozen.
"2 tickets please." I said, taking the money from Nina's hand and giving it to Nate in exchange for the tickets.
"Please enjoy the movie." He smiles, I drag Nina away from the booth.
"Are you okay?" I snap a finger in front of her. She suddenly unfroze.
"Why does he have that effect on me?" She was blushing so hard.
"Are you in love with him already?" I tease her.
"W-what? N-no, n-no way." She quickly denied that and stutter out the words. "Shit!"
"You do!" I pointed out.
"I can't." She shakes her head no.
"But why? He's cute and don't forget nice. He'll be good for you."
"But I'm Nina, I don't fall in love." She complains.
"Your human, humans fall in love." I patted her shoulder.
"But I haven't been in love."
"And that doesn't mean you can't be." I smile at her confused expression. "Let's just leave it here first and you can figure out your thoughts and feelings after the movie." She nodded. "Let's go!"
