I was alone sitting at lunch for Nina was at a Cheer meeting, though I didn't mind. Sometimes being alone with yourself is alright but don't make yourself look stupid for looking stupid is better with someone (if you know what I mean).

I was humming to a song Sucker by the Jonas Brothers when I saw Nate waving as he walks towards my table and I also waved at him.

"Hi! Can I?" He gestured to the empty seat.

"Sure." I pulled out my earphones and put it aside.

"Saturday was so cool. I had fun." He said as he sat down.

"Glad you did." I said smiling tightly, I couldn't sleep that night after we got home. It was like Nina's voice was still ringing in my ears.

"You want to do it again this Friday?" He asks looking at me.

"I don't know, I should ask Nina if she's free." I told him as I took a bite on my sandwich.

"I was thinking that It will only be the two of us." He added.

"Excuse me?" I must have heard him wrong. Did he just ask me out?

"If you want, we can just catch a movie or maybe grab something to eat, if you don't want to go karaoke." He was now looking at me hopefully. I cringe my nose, I don't like him more than a friend and for the fact that Nina likes him. This is so bad.

"I don't know really." I try to make him read between the lines and not be harsh.

"Maybe golf? I heard there's a cool mini-golf course in town." I think he isn't participating in the sign.

"Nate, actually I'm busy during Fridays. I have worked at the diner." I lied just to turn him down.

"Then Saturday maybe?" This dude is so persistent. I don't have any other choice but to do it.

"Nate, you're nice but I-" I was cut off by Sebastian, sitting next to me.

"She has a boyfriend." Sebastian announces out of the blue. "Right?" He turns to me, giving me gestures to just ride with him. "Right?" He intertwines our fingers.

"Y-yeah." I nodded.

"Thought he was just a friend." Nate looking at our hands together. Poor guy, if only there was an easy way to turn him down.

"Now, I'm the boyfriend." Sebastian pulled me closer to his side.

"I understand. Sorry for the inconvenience." Nate stood up and walk away.

"Shit! He likes me." I let go of Sebastian's hand in mine.

"Wait, I was feeling it." He grabs it again, but I took it out as soon as I can. "I'm your boyfriend, I'm allowed to do that."

"Technically, you're my fake boyfriend. It was just a cover-up." I informed him.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever!" He leaned back to his chair, sitting lazily.

"If Nina finds out, she'll lose it." I was so anxious that I was biting my nails unconsciously.

"Which one that Nate asked you out or us being in a relationship?" Sebastian was being his annoying self again.

"Shut up! You're not helping not one bit." I roll my eyes at him.

"Just tell Nina about it, it is better she finds out through you rather than from the gossips around the school." He said taking a bite on my sandwich. "This is good." He commented.

Even though he's an ass, he is right with this one. I've got to tell Nina about this.

I have been feeling anxious for the rest of the day. I wasn't even participating during Mr. Allen's class and I have never than that, like ever. This is the first time that a guy Nina has the eye for, asked me out. Boys normally approach her not me.

Biting my nails nervously as I wait for her by the bleachers. My phone beeps, there's a text from Sebastian.

SEB
- Don't worry, it will be okay.

A smile suddenly curves in my lips. He is right, I didn't do anything bad. I can tell her about Nate, and she'll understand. I replied to his text with a thanks.

"Abby!" Nina waving as she walks to where I was waiting. "What's up Hot stuff!" She wipes some of her sweat.

"Are you feeling annoyed?" I ask her, just oozing up to find out if it is a good time to tell her that the guy she likes just asked me out.

"No." She looks at me like with a raised brow. "Just tired."

"Okay, IneedtotellyousomethingandIwantyoutopromisetonotgetmad." I let all the words out not even letting me breathe in between them.

"Chill! What's with you?" She said amused.

"The thing is.. the thing... I mean.."

"Abby, just say it." She pinches my cheek lightly still amused with my stuttering.

"It's about this guy...." I was now biting my lower lip.

"What about this guy?"

"He... he..."

"He asked her out." Sebastian blurted out from behind. Nina and I snap our heads at him. Her with a surprised expression like she couldn't believe it, while I was throwing a dagger at him with my glare.

"He asked you out?" Nina now looking at me with surprised in her eyes. "Who's this lucky guy?" She pokes my side, I tightly smiled at her while I try to glare at his brother.

"Who's the guy Abby?" Sebastian asks as he had his arms crossed over his chest waiting for me to tell Nina the guy's name.

"He... um.. he's..." I just couldn't let the words out.

"Hey, are you alright? You are suddenly sweating." She hands me her towel.

"Shit!" I exclaimed. "I forgot I have this thing with Mikaela. Oh, look at the time." I pointed out on my non-existing watch on my wrist. "I need to go."

"But, what about the gu-"

"I'm so late." I cut her off. "I think you should just give me a ride, right?" I pointed at Sebastian. "So, I'll go ahead." I give Nina a quick hug and grab Sebastian's hand, dragging him away.

When we finally were far away from the bleachers, I dropped his hand and sighed in relief. I have my hand over my chest, trying to calm myself down. Sebastian was staring at me, hand on his waist.

"What?" I ask him annoyed. "Stop staring at me."

"Was it really necessary?"

"What is?" I ask him again. "And stop asking me question, when I ask you first."

"You didn't tell her." He was referring to her sister.

"I was about to, but you interfered." I told him. "If you weren't so nosy, then I would have already told her about it." He grabs my wrist and was dragging me back to the bleachers. I yank his hands away. "What are you doing?"

"Taking you back to Nina, so you can tell her." He says.

"No." I exclaim.

"What do you mean by no?" He raises his brow at me. "Thought you were about to tell her, but I was nosy, and you didn't get that chance to tell her. I'm only helping you now."

"It's just that..." I bit my inner cheek, looking toward Nina who was now practicing.

"You weren't going to tell her, right?" He looks at me like what he thought was true.

"Well, I was really going to tell her then, but you came, and I just chickened out." I told him. "Can I just tell her tomorrow?" I look at him with pleading eyes. "I really don't have that guts to tell her about Nate right now. What if she'll be mad and say we can't be friends anymore."

"You know her better than that." He crosses his arms.

"I swear. I'll tell her tomorrow." I held my hand up to promise him.

"Okay. Your decision." He nodded. "Should we head straight to your house or Should we get Ice cream first?" He asks now with a grin.
