I was busy writing my essay when Nina dropped by to invite me to come with her at a party Chris was hosting tonight. I repeatedly told her I can't go and that I have to finish my essay but she just wouldn't leave me in peace, she keeps on rumbling that I wasn't being such a supportive best friend and that she thinks I have been avoiding, keeping things from her.

"I think you don't just love me anymore." She slumps in my bed. She uses that sentence just to make me feel guilty about myself. "See, you wouldn't even look at me." I can imagine her pouting, glaring at the back of my head. "Abby, please. Come to the party with me."

"Just promise me one thing." I turn to look at her. She eagerly nods, waiting for me to continue. "I need to be home by 11."

"What?" She complains. "The party won't even be at its peak at that time." She rolls her eyes at me like what I said was something ridiculous.

"Then I won't come." I turn to continue typing on my laptop.

"Fine, How about 1 am." She negotiated, holding one finger up pertaining to the number.

"11:30." turning my seat to face her again.

"12:30" She says, I was about to turn my seat again. "Stop, fine. I can do 12 but nothing earlier."

"Okay." I triumphantly smile, closing my laptop and stride toward my closet to change my clothes.

I pick an elbow-length maroon crop top, matching it with high waisted denim pants and black converse. The party was roaring as we arrived at 10 pm. It was my second time to come to Chris's house and it always made my jaw drop every time, his parents' house was huge with tall pillars by the entryway, his father was an architect and he always says that the house was inspired by Zeus temple in Greece.

Just as we entered the house, loud party music welcomed me with the smell of liquor and sweat from drunk teenagers. I must tell you; I never liked the smell of it at all. Party lights were blurring my sight and the swarming party goers we're making it worse.

"Hey, I need a drink. Want some?" Nina asks leaning by my ear so I could hear her above the loud music.

"Yeah. Cola would be nice." I did the same. She gave me a thumbs up to let me know she got it covered and disappeared within the crowd.

Looking around the room, I was standing near the living room that serves as the dance floor. I've seen most of the people here at school, being Nina's best friend has perks especially when your best friend is popular. I've exchange smiles from here and there but didn't much interaction with them at all.

I decided to sit by the stairs and play Candy Crush on my phone, it has been more than 20 minutes after Nina left to get drinks. I think she got caught up with some people which usually happens in parties that's why she always encourages me to mingle with others, so I won't be bored if I wasn't with her. I could do that mingling but I just decide not to.

"Excuse us." Chris says as he led a blonde girl up the stairs. The girl was that sophomore in the hallway who talked to Sebastian.

"Hey, Chris." I called out to him. "Have you seen Nina?" I ask him.

"Nina? I think she's in the kitchen." He pointed in a direction before I could thank him, he was gone with the girl.

I decided to look for Nina. Pushing through the drunk and sweaty crowd by the dance floor, my eyes widen as I witness hard groping and dirty dancing. When I finally succeeded to walk past the dance floor, I came across a couch which was moved at the side and I thought of sitting on it but I was defeated by a couple who collapse in it, making out with each other and they we're using more tongue than necessary.
