I just finished my work at the diner and Nina offered to pick me up. She said in her text that she has something important to tell me that It couldn't wait till morning. I have been texting Sebastian constantly, but he still doesn't respond to any of my text, even in school he tries to ignore me. I tried to talk to him at lunch, but he left before I can approach him.
"You will be happy about this." Nina glances at me all smiles as she drives us to a place.
"Where are we going exactly?" I ask her.
"It's a surprise." She winks. After 10 minutes we arrive at a bowling alley, it was Friday and most people come here or a party that is taking place at some house.
"Why are we here?" I ask her as we hop out of her car.
"Remember I ask Sebastian if he could find both of us a date." I nodded. "Here we are." She happily gestured to the neon Bowling sign.
"I can't." I said shaking my head.
"We're here and they are probably waiting for us inside, so let's go." She said taking my hand.
"I really can't." I told her but she was determined. She drags me inside the Bowling alley.
"It's not that bad." She scans the whole place. I fish my phone from my pocket and send texts to Sebastian. "There they are." She pointed to the two guys by the middle row. "They're cute." She winks at me and drags me to come with her. "Hi, I'm Nina and this is Abby." She introduces us to the boys who smile to welcome the two of us.
"Hi, I'm David." A tall guy with curly brown hair said. "This is Hunter." He pointed to the lean blonde hair guy next to him.
"I'll take David." Nina whispered at me and she comes to sit with him.
"Hi." The guy named Hunter said with an inviting smile.
David and Nina are having a good time with each other, laughing at each other's jokes and talking about things they have in common. David is a member of the football team and Nina's in cheerleading, they look good with each other. As for Hunter and I, he tries to open a conversation but I end up just answering it with either Yes or No and nothing else. If these were just the two of us, he probably would have left me by now.
I keep on checking my phone from time to time, seeing if Sebastian finally bothered to text me but there was nothing.
"You're waiting for a text or something?" Hunter said sipping on his drink.
"Yes." Tapping my phone on my palm.
"Am I boring you?" He asks.
"No." I shook my head.
"Those two words seem to be your only answer to everything." He chuckles.
"It's just that..."
"You like someone else and you were just forced to come here with a friend." He says it like he knows what was happening.
"How'd you-" Then I realize that he was there for his friend David. "He forced you?" Pointing at David.
"Practically blackmailed me." He informs. "When Chris told him he'll be going on a date with Nina, he was literally jumping in joy. Don't tell your friend, but David has a huge crush on her."
"What about you?" I ask Hunter was nicer than I thought.
"I have this girl I like, but she's hot then cold and vice versa. Making David think that she actually doesn't like me that's why he forced me to come tonight." He leans back looking at David and Nina, I did the same.
