Jay's POV
11:00 Pm Wednesday December 4thI had convinced Cameron to come with us. We all walked along the side walk, Cameron holding my hand, my other hand holding my axe. The axe still occasionally dripped blood into the white snow.
"Doing alright?" Cameron whispers in my ear, his warm breath gave me chills. I nodded. He squeezes my hand and I squeeze back. Sam and Lewis walked ahead of us, looking through every window we passed. Most of the houses were locked up, but occasionally there'd be an open door. We've only run into a few zombies so far, none that were too bad. I rest my head on Cameron's arm as we walk, staring at the snow.
"Hey!" I voice yelled, we all stopped and spun around. Someone came running toward us, they had a big sloppy grin and a black beanie on. They were tall and skinny, holding an axe just a little bigger than mine. Cameron stepped in front of us,
"Who're you?" He asks in his most intimidating voice. They stopped in front of him and let out a deep breath,
"I'm A.J! I saw you guys walkin' and wondered if you'd like to stop and meet some of MY friends!" They said. Sam stumbled up beside me and whispered :
"Is that a boy or girl..?"
I couldn't answer that.
"I'm Cameron, this is Jay, Sam and Lewis" Cameron said, nodding toward us. A.J's smile widened,
"it's nice to meetcha!" They said. I nod. My eyes wander to their chest, but they were wearing such a bulky jacket I couldn't see anything.
"We'd love to meet your friends" I say, glancing at Lewis, who gave me a confused look.
"Cool! Follow me!" A.J says, spinning around and beginning to walk. I tug at Lewis' sleeve,
"Keep your gun out" I whisper, he nods. We all follow them, until they stop at an alley way. We all glance in and at the far end was a bomb fire, surrounded by two other people. A.J runs down to them and we follow. At the end was two girls, easy to tell. They had smeared make-up still on their face, and blood covering their hands. I glance at A.J and realize he also had blood all over his hands, some near his mouth as well. I glance at Lewis who nods to me.
"Hey guys! I brought over the people I was talking about!" A.J says happily. The two girls nod, but barely acknowledge our existence. Until, of course, the one with blonde hair notices Lewis. She stands up excitedly and shakes his hand, me and Sam roll our eyes. Than the one with blue hair comes up to me,
"Hey, you're pretty cute" she says.
"Excuse me?" I say, cocking my head. She doesn't think I'm a guy, does she?
"I'm Sydney, what's your name?" She asks, a slight smirk on her face. I give her a disgusted look,
"Jay" I say, ruffling my hair. I mean, I knew I had short short hair— but really? A.J smiles at me and practically pushes Sydney to the side. I heard Sam laughing, I glare at her.
Cameron ruffles my hair and I roll my eyes.
"Anyway- how long have you guys been here?" Lewis asks the girl clinging to him. She flipped her hair and rested her head on his shoulder,
"A week maybe?" She responds. Sam grunts. I stand by Sam, whispering :
"I'm getting an uncomfortable vibe".
She nods,
"I agree" she grunts. A.J grabs my shoulder and I jump, giving them an uncomfortable look. They grin a bit,
"Stay the night, won't you?" They ask. I glance at everyone else, who all look equally uncomfortable.
"Uh.. sure.?" I say awkwardly.
