Jay's POV
I snuggled in front of the fire with Saint, both our jackets off, my head on his shoulder and his head on mine. I had my eyes closed, listening to Sam, Lewis and Cameron.
"What took you so long?" Sam asks,
"We got lost" Cameron says, quick and confident.
"But we got a lot of food and water" Cameron adds, I find myself smiling at his slight accent. Saint softly kisses my cheek, and I giggle.
"I'm happy you came back safe" he says, i open my eyes, the fire looked so pretty.
"I was starting to get worried" he adds, looking back at the fire.
"I can handle myself- don't worry" I say, smiling. Cameron walks by and ruffles my hair, I giggle, putting my hands closer to the fire.
"Everyone get ready for lunch" Lewis sang.~3 Days Later~
Sam's POV
We all were getting ready- Okay no, Jay, Saint and Cameron were getting ready. Lewis and I were basically making out.
I pulled him closer and deepened the kiss, he tightened his arms around my waist. I had a small frame, not as tiny as Jay, but still small, so Lewis could do this with ease.
He pulled away though within seconds and moved his kisses to my neck, I let out a quiet approving noise, which only made his more excited. In school, Lewis has been a jerk, someone neither Jay or me would want to talk to. He was a 'popular' kid, the one who would have three girlfriends a year, y'know?
But that persona Jay and I had assumed he had was completely wrong. He was a huge nerd, just a cute one. He was smart and knew what he was doing— I bet over half the kids from school are dead already.
Lewis also acted like Jay in some ways, like a little kid. He'd get excited very easily and always to help in any way possible.
A knock at the door interrupted my thoughts and pleasure.
"Hurry up!" Saint yelled, Lewis quietly laughs.
"Sorry!" I yell,
"You will be!" Jay responds, we both laugh.
We fix our selves up and grab our bags, heading out. Everyone was waiting by the door, Jay with a suspicious look and Cameron with a smirk. Saint was flat out ready to leave.
"The next place we have better have a fire place" Jay says, I nod in agreement.
Saint opens the door and we all walk out, the cold hitting us hard.
Everyone collectively let's out a groan, but we start walking. I grab Lewis hand and he smiles at me, a warm smile. I smile back and look down. The snow was almost all ice now, hopefully no one slips.
We were staying close to the walls, it was safer I guess. I didn't really care, I just wanted to get to a safe house. I was supposed to be in one, I was one person away from getting in.
One person away.
Than they shut the doors and I felt my heart sink, than there was chaos.
I bolted to the nearest store and shut all the doors, locked them.
Occasionally people came and begged to come in, but I wouldn't risk it. Than I left to get more food one day and left the doors open, that's when I came back to see Jay and Lewis.
I perk up when Lewis squeezes my hand, I look at him and he nods at jay nervously.
"I thought I heard footsteps" Jay whispers, I nod and we slowly walk along a wall to a big building. We turn the corner and something hit Jay. There was a short shriek and Jay fell, I was pushed back by Lewis.
"Jay!" I yell.(Sorry if this seems rushed..)
