Jim's POV:
(Written by @Mad_Be_Green)
The sun sluggishly went behind the mountains. The sky grew darker and darker by the minute. It left me wondering, if I will ever get to return to the surface and see the blue sky. But I already knew the answer. Probably not. I stood just right by the heartstone but not too close to get burned.
"Hey Jim." Claire said walking up to me. "How are you?"
                              "I'm fine."
"You keep saying you are, but your not." She answered. I knew I couldn't hide my tantrum. I hid for hours and didn't make a sound. Finally I gained enough energy to say, "It's just... how am I supposed... I wasn't thinking of the outcome. All I thought about was the war. I had to do it because if I didn't... if I didn't... we could all be dead..." I sighed.
"You made the right choice," she began, "You care more about your friends and family than you do yourself. You could've died by Morgana. You sacrificed yourself for us. You may be troll in the outside, but your human on the inside. And that's what makes you a perfect TrollHunter and boyfriend."
I smiled and looked up at the sky. I needed time to talk with my mom and see how she is handling everything. Like Claire said, I care more about family and friends that I do myself.
"There is something I need to do." Claire looked at me happily.
"Go she needs you." I smiled not to be kind, but because I was shocked. How did she know I was going to see my mom?
"I will." I said. Then I walked off.
                              🔵🔵🔵
Finally in my basement, I hear my mom upstairs.
"No, that can't be right..." She paused. "There! Perfect!"
I walked up the stairs, placing my hand on the rail. I creaked open the door to see my mom hanging up some picture frames.
"Mom?" I asked quietly. She turned and faced the door.
"Oh Jim!" She ran and gave my a hug. "Jim, I... I have been worried!" I returned the hug. "Honey, I'm so sorry this happened." I knew what she was referring too.
"Mom I'm sorry for everything. It took me awhile to realize that everything wasn't about me, but about you too." We let go and I stared into her eyes. "Mom I want to ask you, are you alright with everything? Are you handling things okay?"
Her face was something I haven't seen before. Happy, sad, worried, scared, loving. All emotions into one expression. "Honey..." she put her hand on my amulet. "I am so proud of you. I always have and will. No matter what happens, just know that I will always love you." I smiled not expecting her to say that.
"I love you too mom." And we hugged again.
"Now..." she said letting go and straightening her doctors coat, "I think it's time to start over. Start over from a fresh beginning." She reached over the table and grabbed a picture frame of me and her.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean, Jim... we should forget about what happens and look forward to tomorrow instead..." she paused.
"Instead of fearing it." I finished. She smiled.
"Yes exactly." If only it was easier done than said.
"Mom I... as much as I want to... I can't. Mom I can't just start over and forget what happened in the past. As much as I want to I can't..."
"No honey, I don't expect you to either. I just thought we can do it together."
I wanted to forget so badly. But if I did that all my friends will be gone. Claire, Blinky, AAARRRGGHH!!!. I would lose them all. I was about to say something when a knock sounded from the door.
"Sorry honey," She said as she walked to the door and opened it.
But right as she opens it she dropped the picture frame causing it to shatter into pieces. Then it seemed as if she just saw a ghost. But that's when I released that who was at the door was not Toby, Claire, or anyone I knew so well.
It was a man with blue eyes and black hair as it glistens in the sun. But something was different about him. He had glasses and a lab coat just like my mom only a bit longer. He had on a blue shirt with white lab pants. But I knew this man from anywhere.
"James?" My mother said almost fainting.
                              It was my father.
