James's POV:
(Written by @Kodbro)
They didn't know that I was there. But I was, which was how I was able to capture Jim again. My son.
I saw how he fought his best friend back in the forest. Which meant that the Darkness was doing its job. My plan was working. Soon enough, Jim would be by my side.
"I want you to go back and tell the others you're okay. Then ask Eli and Steve for the ruins of Gunmar," I explained to him.
Being a troll, was something that I never expected coming from my son. However, I always knew that he would be destined for greatness.
"And what if I don't want to?" He asked me which made me smile. I wasn't being evil. I was just happy that I was finally getting what I want.
"You will if you don't want a force more evil than Gunmar to arise again," I said. He looked at me curiously, clearly wondering who I could possibly mean.
"My friends will know that something is up. They already know about the Darkness. What do you they will do when I show up back there? Let me in?" He asked.
"Only if you persuade them. And if there's anything I know about you, it's that you will do anything for those you love. Including siding me and betraying them to save the world and the home you know as Arcadia, once again. Then again, you had to turn into a troll the last time you did. You won't be able to withhold the Darkness forever, Jim. It's too strong."
I could see how I had cornered him. He would not look at me until it looked as if he had finally given up. "Fine," he sighed. "But on one condition."
Oh, why did the hero's always have to do that to people like me?
"When I give you the ruins of Gunmar, you must promise to leave Arcadia alone," he said.
"That's all?" I smirked.
"Don't pretend as if that's not your plan. It was Gunmar's the last time. And then you let me go."
Those words made me laugh. "Oh, but don't you see, James. I can't do that last request because after Gunmar rises, with the Daylight amulet, I will become the new Trollhunter and you... will be Gunmar's stew. You won't be able to get away because by then my potion and the Darkness will have completely consumed you until you have forgotten the difference between good and bad. Right and wrong," I said.
His expression told me that he was horrified. Then, "So you're letting me go again?"
"I am..." It was the vibration of a cellphone that interrupted me. Looking at Jim, I saw that it came from him.
"Are you going to let me answer that?" Jim asked sarcastically. Now pretending to look relaxed as he sat further back in the chair with his hands bound behind his back. "I mean we can just wait here all day if that's what you want. It's not as if I don't have anywhere to go."
"I see you've been hanging with that chubby friend of yours way too much. Fine," I said before taking out Jim's phone to answer it.
"Hello?" Jim said as I held the phone in front of him on speaker.
A panicked voice was quick to answer. "Jim?" Toby said. "Jim. Quickly. Wherever you are. It's your mom. She's in trouble and we need you-"
"Toby? Toby!" Jim shouted. "Don't worry. I'm coming-"
"Goblins. They took your mom from the hospital. Head to the museum-"
"Okay, I will be there. But-"
Toby hung up before Jim could finish. "Toby?" Jim asked helplessly into the phone. Then looked back up at me when no one answered from the other end of the line. "Let me go," he said coldly. "Now!"
