⏳2016, Los Angeles
It had been two months that had passed since Jade's trip to Boca Raton. The team had been on extra guard for any other bionic soldiers that they had put Jade on a lockdown for safety precautions. Officer Cole had told them that they would put out a national B.O.L.O for the suspect that had attacked Jade in the restroom just from the physical detail she informed the police department and the sketch artist.
In those two months, Jade had gotten a lot closer to the rest of the team. Of course, Tony couldn't keep his mouth shut and had informed the team that Jade was finally in a relationship. He only did it because he was excited and happy for his daughter. The team easily accepted Wanda's and Jade's relationship. Sam had started to become Jade's best friend within those two months. He was like the cool older brother she never had. When the compound had an alert of something tripping up the alarm, Sam checked out the roof. He had the weirdest fight against Scott Lang.
However, he had an audience.
Jade watched the fight unfold as she sipped on her tea. She wanted to help out, but she saw that Sam had it handled. . .at least for the most part. She assisted Sam towards the end, only failing as Scott ended up getting away.
Sam had Jade promise him that she wouldn't tell Steve. She immediately agreed if he didn't tell Tony.
But Tony had already seen the security footage and laughed with one of the agents as they watched both Sam and Jade get their butts kicked by Ant-Man. Tony reassured Sam that he wouldn't speak a word about it to Steve.
Though, he did say that Jade helped Sam with a breach on the compound roof. That alone gave Steve the confidence that Jade was ready for a small on-field mission. He wanted Jade to help out Wanda train as well since the Sokovian was very inexperienced.
He assigned Jade and Wanda to a mission in Los Angeles to infiltrate a hideout of a dangerous mafia. The hideout was inside a broken-down warehouse. Steve had made sure that Natasha and himself were nearby but not close enough to be seen.
At first, Jade was hesitant to get back into missions, but she agreed, realising that missions were a huge part of her life now. She was a bionic soldier created for missions, and she couldn't just walk away from that even if she wanted to.
Jade stayed silent for a while, peering through other room vents. She was in her catsuit, the dark hood of her cloak over her head to keep her blended in with the shadows a lot easier. The plan that Steve had laid out for them was for Jade to be the eyes and ears for Wanda. Wanda was assigned to be the one to get the drugs and the blueprints that held what the leader of the mafia was planning.
Jade stopped in front of one particular vent and peered inside, squinting. She spotted a figure hovering over a desk with files piled on top. They were frantically rummaging through the files, knocking some of the files off the desk as if they were searching for something in particular.
Jade carefully and quietly lifted the vent cover, falling gracefully on a pipe stretching throughout this part of the broken-down warehouse. She steadily walked closer to the man, watching him from above.
A door deeper inside the room slammed open, footsteps pounding against the cement flooring as they approached the man that Jade was above. "Hey, Emilio! Boss wants the wheels up in thirty minutes," a thick Italian accented man informed as his form emerged in the light for Jade to see.
The buzz-cut man whipped around as he stopped rummaging through the files. "Yeah, okay, man. Just give me five minutes, and I'll have the file."
The Italian man raised an eyebrow as his steel eyes narrowed on Emilio. "You didn't lose it, did you?"
