A loud smack was produced throughout the training room in the HYDRA base in Siberia. Eras planted her foot against the guard's chest, twisting his arm until he screamed in defeat. Her brown eyes flickered to her superior for further instructions, and he grinned, impressed. He nodded, signalling her to let go of the guard's arm. She obeyed and removed her foot from his chest. He painfully pushed himself back up onto his feet, holding his side. She stood still, arms folded behind her back with the posture Ivanov ordered all of the soldiers to present when given commands from their superiors.

Ivanov dismissed him, stalking closer to the ginger. "Вы готовы к своей первой миссии, солдату."

You're ready for your first mission, soldier.

Eras locked eyes with him. "Готов к выполнению."

Ready to comply.

The flight to Washington D.C. seemed to last for eternity. Seth accompanied her as he sat on the side bench across from her. Even if she was brainwashed multiple times since the night she tried to escape, the alerting feeling flashed in her mind to stay on guard with the man in front of her. The assassination mission Ivanov had assigned her was to teleport inside the White House and to kill the President of the United States because the president had secret files in the computer system regarding Ivanov's bionic experiments.

Ivanov knew that Alexander Pierce would fail with Project Insight, which was why he sent Nightshade and the Winter Soldier to assassinate the top people who had a high chance of stopping Pierce; Steve Rogers, Natasha Romanoff, and Nicholas Fury. Ivanov had to tie loose ends and saw that if the Avengers were to win, all of HYDRA's secrets would be released, even the ones the president of the United States held.

Eras' eyes glowed a vibrant orange as they gazed over at the White House protected behind a technical black fence. She could see armed guards posted in different places of the White House; some were on the roof, while others walked around the perimeter. A dark fog engulfed her body within seconds from the other side of the street, and she was immediately teleported inside the White House.

She looked side to side, seeing the hallway empty. She snuck along the walls quietly as she made her way to the Oval Office, where the president was currently at. The sound of footsteps approaching her direction caught her attention as she peered around the corner. She spotted a bodyguard walking in her direction, his fingers pressed against his right ear.

"Yes, I'm heading towards the office right now," he informed into his earpiece.

When he came to the connecting halls, Eras high-kicked him in the jaw, earning his head to fly back into the corner of the wall. She ran around him, needing to get to the Oval Office instantly. She now would only have a certain amount of time until she ended up caught. As she rounded the corner, she immediately came to a halt as she saw two bodyguards posted right outside of the Oval Office.

She plastered her back against the wall, releasing a deep breath. Even if she was the most powerful bionic soldier Ivanov had ever created, she couldn't control one of her abilities the best. She struggled the most with the portal jumping. Sometimes, she wouldn't end up in a specific place, and that could jeopardise any mission that Ivanov will assign to her in the future.

She teleported inside the Oval Office, right behind the president, and she smirked down at him. Her right hand glowed with an orange energy disk, and with her other hand, she slapped it over his mouth as she trapped him firmly in his leather seat.

His dark eyes widened in fear as he tried to scream for help, but his screams only got muffled. She raised her hand that held the energy disks, ready to slice it across his heart. Something though had caught her attention as she flickered her eyes onto the family picture frame that was on his desk.

The president was hugging a little girl tightly in his arms as his wife held their other daughter. They wore huge smiles, their hearts filled with love and content. Eras shifted her orange eyes onto the president's dark irises before they landed on their position. Her lips parted open as the vibrant orange had disappeared from her brown eyes. "Oh my god," she whispered, heavily confused about what was happening. She removed her hand from his mouth as the energy disk dissipated. "I'm. . .so sorry, I. . .never. . .never wanted to kill you," her French accent broke as she went into a panic state of mind.

The local news report on the television screen captured both of their attention as it was breaking news. The horrendous scene unfolded on the screen as a helicopter revealed the Winter Soldier and Nightshade creating explosions on the highway as they targeted three people. Cars exploded as Nightshade threw electric blue spheres, desperately wanting to kill Natasha and Sam.

The president swallowed thickly as he looked up at the ginger. "You're just like her," he breathed out, terrified as he instantly reached over to press the emergency button on the bottom of his desk.

In a panic, she punched him in the nose, knocking him out cold. Her eyes widened at the action she just committed. She gripped both of his shoulders, shaking him to try to get him to wake up. "Please, please, wake up."

His head rolled to the side as if he was asleep. She ran her hands through her hair, not knowing what to do. She glanced at the president's desktop computer, Eras's voice echoing in her mind to delete the files.

She turned to quickly hack into his computer to delete any files regarding Ivanov. She rushed to type in different key-codes as multiple files floated onto the screen. She deleted all of them.

The door forcefully pushed open as the two bodyguards held up their guns, pointing the barrels straight at Subject FS9. The guard on the right flickered his eyes on the unconscious president before he angrily looked back at the ginger. "Hands up now!"

Subject FS9 slowly backed away from the desk with alerted eyes. She saw a smidge chance of exposing Ivanov's secret division in HYDRA. "Help! Please help me! I was forcefully assigned to assassinate the president, I swear to you—"

Her dark fog enclosed around her body as she disappeared in thin air before she could finish her sentence. Her feet landed on the cold ground of an alleyway. Seth slapped her across the face hard before shoving her forcefully against the brick wall. "You bitch! You think you can avoid accomplishing the first half of your mission and then have the audacity to expose us?!" He pushed her down on the ground as he kicked her multiple times in the stomach, ignoring her pleading screams for him to stop.

He roughly grasped her hair, pulling her up as he narrowed his eyes onto her tear-stained face. "I'll keep kicking you if you dare speak like that again. Just wait until Ivanov finds out about this."

She let out a strained cry as Seth dragged her back to the van. "I'm sorry—"

He kicked her left ankle, opening the back door and shoving her inside. "Don't speak!" He pointed a stern finger at her. "I better not hear a peep out of you."

She nodded in obedience as he slammed the van's door shut. She squeezed her eyes shut, trying so hard not to breathe that heavy because her ribs felt like they were on fire. She leaned her head back, wishing that she could escape the chains one day.
