Robert was prepping something with the maids in the kitchen, chatting away as if there was no burden hanging around in the corner of the kitchen. I tapped my foot rapidly while sitting on a stool up a few inches from the floor. Obviously his pest was me.

I was still dressed in a thin blue nightgown which didn't affect me since the kitchen was so warm. I felt a stinging warmth from behind my eyes. All I could do was sigh and lay my head on my knees.

"The Miss is crying again," a maid informed Robert who just grunted in response.

"Yeah," he said. "Take care of the rest of these."

The maids whispered in obedience and I heard footsteps approaching. I quickly wiped my face and stood up to exit the kitchen. Robert followed and called out to me. I just ignored him and started up the stairs but he grabbed my wrist and turned me around.

"What?," I asked coldly.

"What else?"

I scoffed and crossed my arms across my chest, looking down at my feet. "You really are a flipping bastard," I muttered. I glanced at him from the corner of my eyes to see how he would react.

Expecting him to do something rash, I flinched when he lowered his hands dangerously close to a pressure point on my neck.

"Look mate," I spoke hesitantly, choosing my words wisely. "I'm fine, a few shed tears will do nothing to me."

"I know," he said back. "But I don't trust you. I need you in my view at all times."

"You're not the boss of me." I felt his fingers slowly digging into my skin and my hand automatically went towards his wrists. I managed to pry them away from me.

"I'm in a pretty good mood today. If you want, I can take you out," he offered. "We can take you out to see that boy Chance again. Currently, he's skipping school so we could..."

My blood ran cold and I tuned out the rest of what he was saying. He's skipping school? How would he know that? Unless...

"Oh my gosh," I spoke in realization. Then it turned into chaos. I repeated he words over and over, trying to cope with it. "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh!"

My sanity was slowly dissipating, I could feel it with every small movement I made.

I wiped a stray tear from my cheek and looked at him with a straight face. "I can't believe it took me that long to realize you're the thing. A security camera keeping watch of the people closest to me and then-" I slammed my hands against his chest and he stumbled backwards, grabbing the rail before he fell.

"So now that I know you're a human GPS who can track where people are, doesn't that mean I can't really run off freely since you'll already know where I am? So that means I have to kill you, right?"

Robert's eyes flashed purple and he stepped backwards down the stairs. I giggled and jogged towards him.

"Silly, I'm not actually going to do that. After all," I said inches from his face. "I'm not a villain."

I could see a reflection of myself in Robert's wide eyes. At first I thought it was just him but I slowly saw his purple glow fade and my eyes still shining violet brightly.

I held in a gasp as I pulled back and tried to gain back my composure. He steadied himself and looked at me with disappointment. It didn't bother me, why would I care if anyone was disappointed with me at this point?

"Seriously, I thought you were better than this."

I groaned. "Ugh, you're starting to sound like Maximus."
