Luna's POV

I packed another box of summer uniforms and slid it into the closet. Of course, I had to be the one packing all the boxes. The teachers the knew if they asked me, I wouldn't say no.

Finally, I taped the last box and pushed it into the side, locking the closet and sliding to the floor. I spun the key around my finger and listened to the clock till it passed a minute.

My phone buzzed and I glanced at the message on the screen.

𝔸𝕩𝕖𝕝: 𝕔𝕠𝕞𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕕𝕠𝕨𝕟?

I sighed and picked myself up. How long was he waiting for me?

I walked out the door and Axel was there, holding two cups. I haven't seen him in anything but the school uniform shirt, with no tie and slacks. He was wearing a black coat paired with old boots and loose jeans.

I zipped up my jacket and took the cup from him. It smelled like ginger.

"Your burn is getting better," I mentioned. "Are you getting treatment?"

"Yeah," he stated bluntly. "Lets go."

I took a long sip from my tea as I looked him in the eye. I started walking alongside the road and he followed.

"What do your parents think about you not going to school for a week?"

"My dad is not taking it easy. My mom is fine though."

"Probably because she experienced something like it, hmm?"

"Aren't you smart?" he said sarcastically.

I was about to comment on his statement but we arrived at the steps of his house. I've been around his house a couple times but his parents always end up being around so we really never have any time to ourselves. By the light shining from one of the windows, I knew that it was going to be the same.

There were dents in the bottom of the door where Axel would kick to alert he was home instead of knock. How his parents deal with him, I will never know?

Before he kicked the door, the door swung open and Mr.Wyatt frowned. But just shook his head and smiled when he saw me.

"Nice to see you again, Luna."

"You too, sir."

"Luna's here?!"

I heard the sound of quick footsteps approaching and Mrs.Wyatt came into view, a ladle in her hand.

"Hi Mrs.Wyatt!" I waved at her and she grinned. Maybe if Axel smiled, he would have his mom's smile. He looks very similar to her, it's uncanny.

"Axel, you should have told me before bringing her. Now you're not eating. Luna, you can have his lunch."

"What the fu-" His mom held up the ladle and he looked away. "Fudge?"

"It's alright Mrs.Wyatt, I'm not hungry. I just need to work on something with Axel."

"Where did my son find someone like you?"

"I'm right here!"

I snuck my arm into his and pulled him inside. He grabbed his bowl as I placed a gift bag on the table.

"For you, Mr and Mrs Wyatt."

I quickly jogged up the stairs before she could squeeze me to death in one of her best hugs and opened the door for Axel to enter. Swinging the door shut, I opened my bag and grabbed out a laptop. I tossed it to Axel and he caught it easily.

"You should stop throwing electronics," he said.

"You should stop tryin'a be my mom."

I stood next to him as his fingers mashed buttons on the keyboard. A bunch of numbers were appearing in the search bar and when he hit enter, it sent us one link.

"This is really shady. Are you sure you want to do this?"

He ignored me and clicked the link.

The background of the website had HA on it and stated: 'Welcome to the Hero Academy files. Do you have the access code?'

Axel bashed in numbers quick enough so that I couldn't see and files filled the entire page. Each had a name of a hero underneath it.

He kept scrolling till he came across a file with the name "Lila Rowe." He clicked it and the woman's information came up.

Whatever Axel was doing, it was definitely illegal but I couldn't stop what he started. If he was going to these lengths, it was probably important. I wasn't going to question it.

Lila seemed to have similar abilities to Axel's and also suffered severe burns. But by the looks of it, she was still alive even with dealing with the burns for almost twenty years.

"This woman," he said as he tapped the screen. "This woman, I have to talk to her."

"She's a hero, she ain't giving up her location that easy."

"Yes she is, it's right there."

I looked back at the screen and sighed. It was right there.

"Well, do it during your own time. I don't want to get mixed up in this Axel."

Axel looked at me and furrowed his brows. "What type of friend would just do that?"

"The type of friend who doesn't want to risk getting arrested," I countered. "And I thought that you wanted to be a hero, too, so why are you doing this?"

"This isn't just about be a hero anymore! It's about living!"

He slammed the laptop shut and I feared that he broke the screen. Just as he stood up, his mom shouted for us downstairs.

"Axel, someone else is waiting for you downstairs!"

We both exchanged looks of confusion before heading down ourselves. We walked up to the door and Axel immediately started yelling.

"What the fuck are you doing here?"

Jason stood at the door, still wearing his uniform and leaning against the wall.

"We need to-"

Before she could say anything else, he approached him and attempted to strike him but his mom caught his ear.

"Learn some respect! This young man is freezing from coming here."

"As I was saying," he glared at Axel and turned to me. "I need your help."

"Why would I help you?"

"Because it's very important to the school."

I sighed. Did I make another promise to one of the teachers?

"Okay, let's talk outside."

Axel shook his head but forbid himself from saying anything with his mother standing behind him. I just rolled my eyes and followed Jason out the door.

"Alright," I spoke as I shut the door. "What is it?"

"I need your help with something involving Fable."

"That sounds personal. I don't remember making any personal favors."

"Well," he said tugging my cheek. "Now you will."
